Demon Wanted

2762 Views 33 Replies 15 Participants Last post by  775Cat
I know the Demon folks are a tight network. I am looking for a Demon if anyone is contemplating selling in the future. I have a Super Stock and 1320. Demon would complete the package. I would "prefer" the following options, but not a deal breaker, sunroof and HD stereo. Must have crate intact or expect a substantial price hit.
I know what they are worth, I won't pay stupid money, but anticipate paying what the car is worth. I have cash and time.
If you are considering selling, auctioning or otherwise, let me know and we can engage in earnest conversation regarding a deal on the right car. You will know your car is going to an enthusiast/collector who will enjoy it often and it can live out its life next to its cousins, the SS and 1320.
No thrashed, modded projects. Rear diff mods accepted. I would like a well respected car that was driven and enjoyed by it's owner. Garage queens won't see a price bump here. Location not important.

Thanks in advance. 775Cat

Sunroof might be hard to find. I think Bravo has 2 new black ones with sunroof. But I bet you will not be able to negotiate a fair price. It's worth a shot maybe...........

I live in Kingman but I am 10 miles from them right now........
Thanks dragrcr. I'll give them a call. It is not a time sensitive purchase. Have fun down there.

166 was definetly over the high average. Someone wanted that one bad. 128 was a good deal but if I remember right that one didn't have many options. If i can get loaded I would prefer. 1700 miles doesn't scare me at all but hard core collectors want the lowest mile garage queens - not my priority. I would take the miles and the 30k savings. Both 155k sales had crates also. Crate is worth 10k if numbered the same as the car. So 130-140 is the norm for a low mile Demon right now. 120-130 for one with some miles on it, then add a premium for the crate if correct.

Ya, no need to negotiate with those guys:ROFLMAO: but thanks for the lead. appreciate ya.
I posted this thread to let Demon OWNERS know i am in the market if they are stepping on a last call unit and want to sell their car. I did not intend this to be a catch all of all Demons listed for sale on the internet. I am capable of searching the internet myself. If you have a Demon for sale, or personally know someone that does please contact me. I am well aware of the public dealerships and internet key words to find Demons for sale, but thankyou. I am negotiating on two right now, going to see one this weekend. Prices are all over the map but 200k is way off the mark for sure.

Here's one that has some miles on it. Not a lot of options either. But the price is right at $114K and I like the color, being bias of course.

Called them on this one. Sending more pics. Noticed the dirt all over the intake tube to the airbox. Either this thing had been rally raced or the intake was taken off and stored in a dirty shed. Salesman could not spell demon or stop rubbing himself (must be a good bonus on this one) so I am working with a manager now. Gut feeling is there is a reason for this price. I like the blue also.

The reason for the price is that it's high miles and no options, cloth interior. It might have some options I can't see, but it's about as vanilla as a Demon can get. With the high miles, it's also no longer qualified as a short-term collectible. For that price, I'd also suspect that the Demon crate isn't all together or being offered at all. Most of the high dollar demons are optioned well, low miles, and have a complete crate. For this particular car, if it doesn't have a crate, I wouldn't pay $100,000 for it with those kind of miles. Out of all the Demons on the planet, this one is pretty much the bottom of the barrel in terms of desirability.
yes I have a similar view, the one I am going to check out this weekend has 6000 miles and better options but again no crate. I'll drive it and it will have miles on it when I die, not my problem, but it will still be a Demon and sleep next to a SS and 1320.

1. Xylander,If you read the ad, it says it comes with the crate.
2. That intake tube oxidizes over time. I parked my car before winter and when I opened the hood in the spring it already started looking milky. You have to keep a coat of Armor All or WD40 on it to keep it from oxidizing. It can be cleaned and restored back to new with some elbow grease,or you can buy a new one for $135.
thanks guys, that is good to know. Miles do not necessary bother me if they were mature miles, proper maintenance ect. It is my kid's problem if it worth a dime later on. Have them running a PSM historical data dive now to see if it was modded or PSM swapped. Very uneducated dealer so moved up the ladder and to service manager to get the right answers. If it was someone's DD the miles don't bother me as long as the guy took care of it.
Any areas you think I should focus on for inspection would be helpful. thanks again for the heads up on the intake tube.

With demons, Miles absolutely matter. More of them the lower the price. Saying you won’t pay more for low miles just means you’re in the market for a higher Mile car. Multiple low mile versions just went for 200k+ at Mecum. High Mile examples obviously will be less than that. GLWTB
Thanks for the input,
First - Mecum is only a price guide for people who wont get off the couch. It is "collectors" with FU money or that is what they do for a living. Buying a demon for 200k is not a good investment so I assume FU at play here.
Plenty of units, low miles yadayada for way less just no drinks and prestige of paying auction pricing.
No value in paying 200k or even remotely close to that for me because I dont care if it has 6 miles on it. I would drag race it, drive it and have fun with it. It will get dirty, it will need tires and so on.
If that means I am in the market for a higher mile car then I guess you are right. I dont want 30,000 miles but 6000-8000 doesn't scare me if it was taken care of properly. It will have 20-30k on the clock when I am dead and gone. So I look at it as saving 50-60k for tires and race gas. I win.

I bought more ranch land in December. To good of a deal to pass up. That took a lot of cash so I am about 3 months away from hot searching again. Could make the right deal happen by financing other projects but prefer not to.
I know auction prices do set the high bar but that demographic is small whereas the majority of private sales are south of 150. Patience has always served me well. Maybe stock market crash or interest rates will be my friend.
