I’ve been wondering for a while now what the difference is between a hellcat and hellcat redeye. Beside the 90 hp difference And a few cosmetics like the hood, what in depth differences are there? Any that stand out specifically?
When I read the introduction criteria, it stated this was a friendly community. WOW, some missed that!! I did not know that meant those less informed would be subject to arrogant responses. As you said "I honestly came here for info". Also stated "Please help us keep this site friendly and informative!" Only been here a couple of weeks and disappointed that some of the responses aren't dignified as such.Be cool. Could be a guy who honestly came here for the info, he is blessed and for a change can be someone who traveled down a good road! How many of the opposite stuff have we been treated to over the years?
@Xtra Octane Merry Christmas! Tell us about yourself, obviously some are surprised on this forum that is full of passionate AND very informed Dodge fans that you admitted you did did not know a very fundamentally good thing about your new car.

It has the ESJ 6.2L V8 Supercharged High Output Engine. I did not see any threads that addressed the 797HP engine and the differences from others. All references I see are about the 707HP. In 2018, I was considering the Demon. Been kicking myself ever since for not pulling the trigger. I was looking for info explaining the difference between that engine and the one in the new car.
Neither hood is a snorkel hood; a snorkel hood has the intake further forward than and above the body of the scoop to allow it to get clean air banging into the air mass already in the scoop to compress it in a consistent manner. Think of the old Harwoods of the past. No, it's not. The Demon had the one VERY wide snorkel .
Direct Connection has a very good explanation on Uncle Tony's Garage on youtube. It was a very straight line to the factory to get Mopar racing goodies that the other brand X manufacturers did not have, thus the name. What do you mean by Direct Connection?
I've been hearing rumors that the upgrade, even though being a mopar part and installed by dealer, voids the warranty. do you know if thats accurate or not?Demon engine with stronger internals and bigger blower was enough to sway me. The extra hp is just a bonus. The stronger axles, driveshaft, etc was just a bonus bonus. The dual fuel pump set up is also nice.
Also dont forget they just released a RedEye dealer install hp upgrade with 885 available hp.
Will not void the warranty. Squash the rumors lol.I've been hearing rumors that the upgrade, even though being a mopar part and installed by dealer, voids the warranty. do you know if thats accurate or not?
that's what i figured. i called two local dealers and both said they'd get back to me and so far no call so i was suspiciousWill not void the warranty. Squash the rumors lol.
Show them the reveal video with Tim K. stating as much. Should help clear it up. Skip to 8:25-ish.that's what i figured. i called two local dealers and both said they'd get back to me and so far no call so i was suspicious

Not any dealer, but it has to be a POWER BROKER dealer. Any other shop or non-Power Broker dealer will void the warranty.that's what i figured. i called two local dealers and both said they'd get back to me and so far no call so i was suspicious
This is a good point. Although I’ll bet another dealer prob wouldnt even do it mNot any dealer, but it has to be a POWER BROKER dealer. Any other shop or non-Power Broker dealer will void the warranty.
Ford has a similar deal with their Roush upgrade kits for the 5.0. You can go to certified dealers and get the Roush stage kits installed and it will keep the warranty. This is a good point. Although I’ll bet another dealer prob wouldnt even do it m
Very true. My dad started bracket racing a '68 Super Bee in 1975. He will be 82 in 2 weeks and still drives a '95 Chrysler LeBaron in Super Gas.Mopar is a people, not just a brand. Many of us are second-generation Mopar freaks, and are even more dyed-in-the-wool than our forefathers.

Well, honestly, the Redeye is a better mod platform overall. It has beefed up axles, rear end, driveshaft, and lower internals over what's in the Hellcat. More specifically, the Redeye is a better race-ready platform. To be competitive and safe, a Hellcat has to put on a lot of what comes with the Redeye.I had a 19 charger hellcat and now a 20 challenger redeye.
They r very similar tbh. U can feel the extra power, but its not enough that id trade a newish hellcat in for a redeye. I only did it bcuz the hellcat tore its own control arm off at freeway speed and ya….u can guess the rest.
all in all any hellcat trim is amazing and can be tweaked. If ur gonna mod just get a hellcat, if ur staying stock then go redeye imo.
i say the same about my subarus. If u mod go base wrx, if ur stock get the sti.
