Just got my 2019 redeye. I am going to do the direct connection power upgrades once available. From looking at them I only see a different air filter included. Anyone have any thoughts on if it would be any advantage or disadvantage if I installed an intake prior to getting the power packs.

One immediate disadvantage would be the probable loss of your warranty.

Why do it? You can get 885HP and still have factory warranty. I also don’t understand why people get after market cold air intakes. The stock on is built not to fail why the aftermarket one you have no clue if it fails or not

Dodge rep told us flat out that if something breaks on the car after the power pack installation it’s “by review” for any driveline approval
If they find proof of damage due to racing they are declining the claim
Even if it’s safety times like a one piece driveshaft or diff brace

I wonder if the 885HP Power Broker kit will be enough to get the Redeye into the 9's in the quarter mile?
Most definitely will.

Hence they'll put it in and maintain warranty but if you actually exploit them they get an out for abusive driving. Seems like a good way to get themselves into trouble with warranty claims; Dodge is encouraging owners to track their car and then deny claims for manufacturer's defects because the car was driven "abusively". What is the legal definition of abusive driving? They hook up to your PCM and say "see you were doing 150 mph, that's abusive driving" on a car that's advertised as doing 200 mph.

Exactly. It bothers me that they advertise the SS as a race/drag car, and every add and all reviews show it burning the tires off and doing the quarter mile. But then they have an out for “abusive driving” and /or drag racing. This is in 100% stock form too…That is just wrong.
