Hi all,

Does anyone know if with the Direct Connection announcement if the 2019 and 2020 will be offered the "powertrain recalibration" to unlock 807hp?

Asking for a friend who needs bragging rights. :p

You already have it. They just measure the 807 100RPM higher. You actually have a measured 812. Not to mention most people going in will getting the 838hp upgrade, not an 807...

Now i have to rename my license plates to HELL807 or 838 instead of 797 lol
It’s why I specifically did not reference hp levels in mine lol. Kept it simple - H CAT. Never know when you're going to sell or upgrade.

I am still confused on how these will be emissions legal.

I assume the car will drive like stock and have the same emissions or better but once you go WOT thats when the magic happens. All in the tune. If a dodge demon can be sold in CA then they can make this happen.

Because they went through the certifications already and know they will pass. And probably also the reason dealers will do the install.

Demon was emissions certified in all 50 states including California even when running 840hp on the crate PCM and 100 octane.

I guess that makes sense, wonder how much more you can pull out of a demon if you retune it without emissions devices on it.....

Does make sense, I know the old PA emissions tail pipe tests only reved the car to 3,000 rpm....

@GreenMachine15 - Done right, tuning and emissions are not necessarily incompatible, Yes, if you want the 10/10th solution you'll probably not be able to make it under some limits, but in many other cases you can gain a LOT just by being more efficient - which is good for BOTH power AND emissions!

For instance, a while back I bumped a 305 HP V6 Mustang to north of 350 with a cleaned up intake and exhaust system and a really good tune. That came out cleaner on emissions than when I started! So it can be done, but you can't be sloppy about it by just throwing fuel at it. (Got better MPG too, which was a nice bonus.)

All that said, the future is probably a mix of gas and electric or all electric. Imagine a 392 with the eTorque from a Ram 1500 adding another 90 ft-lbs. Then you're looking at 565 lb-ft for honestly not a lot of integration work or added weight. I would be totally unsurprised if Mopar isn't already working on it TBH...it's just too easy.

I guess it all comes done to the emissions limit on RPM and your fuel curve, not to mention how hard the emissions guy pedals it to the desired rpm for the test. Still, I have no idea how CA is down with it.
