I ordered a Phantom Black Challenger at the beginning of February. Fully loaded with an automatic transmission. I got a call from my dealer today and immediately got excited because I thought it was finally time that I would be receiving my VIN. Well, that wasn't the case. After being told last week that some automatic challengers would still be made, they informed me today that if I want a 2015 I wold have to switch to a manual. I was dead set with the A8 and decided to cancel the order. I really wanted the 2015 because it was the first year for that car. But I guess I'll have to settle for a 2016 whenever the new model year starts...

Yep canceled. I was afraid they would let us edit it for the 2016 model and I wasn't really happy with the dealer I was at. When I ordered it I made sure that they didn't have any other hellcats ordered and they told me I was the only one. Then a few months later they told me I was 4th on their list...

Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be an automatic rollover... looks like one has to start all over signing up on August 25th, and roll the dice again.

100% confirmed? No. We'd need an official Statement from FCA for it to be 100% confirmed.
But it doesn't look good if a district rep (one who doles out allocations to a territory) is saying that.

As long as you knew the situation with the rollover that's fine. Sounds like the dealer sucks. Now there's a surprise LOL! Best of luck finding what you want or ordering a new 2016 when you are ready.

Is August 25th the first day to order the that you know of?

According to RS, 2016 order banks open 8/25. I am thinking that if there is a backlog of A8 orders, that date may be pushed back. Since 2015 production goes to 9/18 and then 2015 "rollovers/reorders? should get 1st priority starting 9/21, I can't see a real "new"/non 2015 order being made until maybe mid NOV 2015. So here we go all over again. Place a new order on 8/25 for a 2016 and when the old 2015'ers are built, you might get your car by mid DEC. If the demand is strong....VON Hell returns with a vengeance. Just mentally trip pin'...lol. Is this a possible scenario?I say don't open 2016 order banks until all old 2015's have a VIN.

id stick to my guns on the A8....odds are they will add some new feature and colors for 2016...so you may be happier...

i wouldnt give up yet....try to locate one still sitting on a dealer lot.....and keep calling him weekly....you may still find your car.....also keep looking here for those who find one for msrp at their dealer.....all hope is not lost.....

make finding your HC your new hobby for a few weeks...maybe youll find it still

Thank you. I appreciate it. Unfortunately I really want to have a car built specifically for me and although it sucks waiting for one, it's worth it in the end to be able to say it was made for me. Congrats on getting your hellcat. That method just isn't for me no matter how crazy I may sound.

i put a down payment on the car and wanted that money back in order to buy the 2016. My Dealer is Crown Dodge up in Dublin Ohio. Its a Phantmon Black, Laguna black leather, NAV, and engine block heater. If anyone wants it feel free to call up there before they cancel it if they haven't already. It'll have to be changed to a manual transmission and it's been stuck in BG for about 2 and a half months.

Maybe you missed the part I said about me wanting a car made for me. With every option that I want. I'm not willing to pay for a $66,000 car that isn't exactly how I want it. It's worth the wait for this type of vehicle.
