I have to admit that I left out what's probably an important part. I don't use tire shops.

Got tired of dealing with the problems they often cause, and bad balancing jobs, so I got my own tire machine and balancer. With more than enough vehicles, having that setup saves a lot of time, and a bit of money.
I've noticed this about you Jimmy N. You don't seem to ever do anything half ass. I mean, aside from your unreasonable dislike for the HC models with the superior number of doors that is. :)

There, I fixed it for you. That's not unreasonable, right?

I looked at doing the same thing. On my sons z06 he got an awesome deal on some black wheels and was thrilled that they were mint. Just had tires put on. All four wheels now have chips in them from the tire machine. AND the guy charged $140 to mount and balance. Didn’t notice the new chips for a few days when he washed the car.

So here's some more confusion:

Wheel Automotive parking light Tire Vehicle Hood

This rendering of my car I was sent today has the wheels I thought it was going to have lol. I honestly have no idea what their marketing team is doing. I work in marketing and we're already starting on summer creative, actively building/printing spring. How are they so deep into the launch of their new model year without this IMO very important collateral built. Dodge assured me they're working on it though lol.

Picked up my car with the wheels I don't like. Coulda been worse, there was a guy picking up a widebody redeye that cost him over 100k and he got the wrong interior color. As obnoxious as it is, and an added cost I hadn't anticipated, at least I can change the wheels. And I don't have to see them while driving.

Well..while Dodge’s marketing is king when it comes to making people want to buy their cars…their ordering process and everything involved in it is typically bottom of their priority list. Been like that as long as I can remember. You'll be fine. Wheels are easy fix. Play your cards right and you can likely swap wheels and sell your old ones and the whole process cost you nothing but time. Some people love the wheels you got.

So here's some more confusion:

Sounds just like we've been telling you for days. Now go and enjoy that bad boy. The glass is always full when driving a Hellcat lol.

Honestly I stopped following the thread when someone got rude and degraded my character, and I didn't go back to read any of it. Who needs the headache? It's still disappointing to me, and I am still concerned that if I have trouble it won't be taken care of. I think it's perfectly reasonable to be pissed off about. The guy who got a tan interior instead of black wasn't happy either, and that sucks. Yeah the car is still cool but it would have taken only a small level of competence on behalf of the marketing team to prevent stuff like this from happening. When you're spending that much money there shouldn't be surprises about what you're getting.

I bet the guy with the tan interior never got a POC or he would have known it was ordered wrong.

And seriously just try to forget about the wheels. If you swap wheels they will likely be several years old and then you get some driveline or vibration issue and now you've modded the car and the dealer will blame it on you. With a new car I'll keep the new wheels and tires.

I get it. And we probably shouldn't diminish your concerns. Like I said earlier, it didn't come in the wrong color and you will make it right. Overall it is truly a minor issue that gets fixed easily. Stop fretting over it and enjoy it. You must have a lot of good things going on in your life right now that allows you to be overly concerned about this. Look at the big picture. You're fine.

Well, I must admit that it was a big disappointment when a Chevy pickup I had ordered finally showed up.

It didn't help that this was in Europe, so things weren't all that easy to straighten out. Anyway, what disappointed me was that while it was the correct color and a Stepside, what arrived was a longbed Stepside. Not exactly what I had in mind.

And don't believe they do any wheel swaps any more, an SXT might be one thing but how would you explain to a Hellcat buyer that the wheels on the window sticker are not on the car. And also could maybe cause an issue with warranty when equipment on the car does not match the build sheet.

Can't dealerships simply swap them out for what you want? Honestly,
I don't see the big deal here. Just lean on them a little, try that and see if that works!
That's what I tried to ask, but I got hardballed with an "it's your privilege to buy this car from us" attitude from both the dealer and dodge. They threatened to sell the car out from under me lol. I thought it would be a simple fix; I wanted OLDER wheels. I woulda swapped low milage used. Nope.

I did learn in the process that the dealer only made 1,400 on my car from the built-in MSRP markup, though, which explains their lack of helpfulness. That's about 4k less than they used to make on the cars when they had lower MSRPs. Dodge has some serious internal issues.

She's in my garage now though. The car rocks even if the company sucks.

I feel your pain. I to was expecting the black 5 spoke as that was the base wheel at order time. Picking up my car tomorrow and based on the pictures they sent me tonight I also got a wheel change.

BTW, there is now only one optional wheel: the Brass Monkey. They dropped the Matte Vapor from the option list on the NB. I checked the ordering database yesterday and it was gone.
