So, I guess I shouldn't look forward to the voluminous package I got when I bought my Viper back in 1993. It was an actual leather suitcase that contained all of the factory parts and repair manuals, advertising materials, a book that described the entire history of the Viper project, and even a VHS tape of Team Viper. It also included a set of metal, Viper logo binders to put them in, so you could properly display it on your bookshelf. Now that I recall, they actually send two - since they knew you'd be using one in the garage and keeping one for posterity, in the house. Those were the days.
Oh, and I almost forgot, Dodge kept you on a list so that when the first Viper Coupes were announced for 1996, those on the list who still had their original Vipers still registered in their name, could preorder the new Viper Coupe and get an immediate allocation assigned to whatever dealer they wanted to buy it from. Now THAT was fun. I was able to go into the same dealer that I bought my first one from and tell him that I was going to order my car from him with my preassigned allocation, and I was going to buy it at invoice. He happily agreed because there was a backdoor rule that allowed any dealer that completed a coupon transaction, to get an additional allocation for another coupe if they made their "coupon kids" happy.
