Dodge has recalled the Enhanced Security Valet Mode update. It is no longer available for installation. If you have already had it installed, Dodge recommends having the PCM reverted to the previous software.

Furthermore, they have updated the procedure for the RF-Hub security update. Now, if you elect to have the RF-Hub locked, and you have the Enhanced Security Valet Mode update, they will update (revert) the PCM along with the RF-Hub. The result is that you will only be able to lock the RF-Hub if you accept rollback of the Enhanced Security Valet Mode.

Recall PDF attached.

I have the Enhanced Valet Mode (ESVM) update and I had problems (error codes) with it. However, I like that the ESVM provides some defense against relay attacks. The RF-Hub update prevents unauthorized persons from programming additional keys and using them to steal your car, but it does nothing against relay attacks. The workaround to prevent error codes with the ESVM is to engage and disengage the feature while the engine is not running. This was working for me. I have been using this workaround for a couple of months and I have not had any issues. I feel that it’s a shame Dodge is giving up on the feature, but I also understand.

If Dodge or @DodgeCares is listening, I would like to make the following product suggestion with the hope that it might be easier to implement and less problematic.

I would be happy if instead of limiting engine power, the ESVM when enabled simply prevented the car from starting--no start, no codes.

Best of luck and success Dodge.

This is why I won't doing the upgrade. It's in a locked garage with security cameras. If they make it to the driver's seat then they can have it. I'm fully covered as for insurance lol.

I'm happy I live in an area where I could leave the keys in my car and nothing happens.
Unfortunately for the rest of us, that area is called our garage!

This is something a lot of us anticipated with the new security feature. Like any initial software version, it's bound to be buggy, and it's why I didn't really mind that my 2015 was slated to be the last model year to receive the update. I'm hoping by the time it reaches me, they'll have all of the bugs worked out.

That's unfortunate, I was hoping we'd have better news for the security of our cars this year.

I had my Hellcat out in the driveway late one night while I was working in the garage. Around 1am someone drove by 3 times, then took a picture of the cars/driveway. I panicked and threw the car back in the garage. 2 or 3 cars were stolen that morning.

I haven't driven the car since and I live in a fairly safe area. I honestly didn't believe the hysteria around how often these cars are stolen, but this is the second time I've been cased or scoped out since I bought the car 3 months ago.

Maybe I'm better off building a pro-touring classic with a manual trans, good lawd.

Good decision making of brining in your car, you could of easily been a mark. Just be extra careful I'm sure they will come back again!

I bought this car because of the spirit of mopar (old school quality power and reliability) and am lucky to have my car garaged and 2-3 cars parked in front of the garage door. It’s a bit of a chore to get to drive the hellcat uncovering and moving other cars but it’s also a great theft deterrent. Plus I never park the car anywhere other than the garage. If I need to go shopping I take something else.

you need one wire and a screw drive to boost the old mopars, thisnew one should besafe enough for now.
