Has anyone tried to purchase a Super Charger for their 392 2015? I tried and have been told the aftermarket cannot crack the tuner computer program on the 2015 models.
I speculate Dodge does not want the 392 buyer to accomplish getting 600-650 HP for an extra 6-8 grand and have a hell of a car with the technology package. And still be ahead by 10 grand from a Hellcat. Between personal property tax, insurance, gas guzzler tax your ahead by a lot. And not here to criticize the Hellcat. I want the technology package and just have a hard time justifying 70k plus for a DODGE. And yes I can afford the Hellcat and can have a Charger and Challenger Hellcat which I passed on both. In the end I think the Super Charger for the 392 will come available and be a nice package.
And here to support all the Hellcat family. Just looking for thoughts on the availability of the Super Charger for the 15, 392

as with any new car, it just takes time. I am sure there will be someone to get the code cracked soon enough. Coming from Ford for me it is just weird that it takes so long and that it seems Dodge works so hard to keep the aftermarket at bay where as Ford supports and endorses the aftermarket companies.

Dodge's ECM has been encrypted for a while now. One of they reasons you dont see many hemi crate engines in swapped cars, along with their prohibitive costs. It will take awhile for the ECM to be cracked by most 3rd party party manufacturers, probably a year before its widespread, I'll probably wait for an Edelbrock with a tuner.

To be honest the 70k and warranty is way under priced. Between parts, labor, tune and voided warranty, it wouldn't add up to save you money in the long run. You are better off with nitrous and use it when u race and if u gotta visit the dealer you can pull it out much easier then a supercharger. If you go the nitrous route, I can get you a discount, as I am Sponsored by nx express. And I can also get you a Great deal for any hellcat family forum

Totally agree, I live in California and the Hennessey kits (and others) that are available do not pass our smog laws! The Hellcat passes smog and has a warranty: well worth the price.

Love the "slap a S/C on it for $6,000-$8,000" and boom, they think they have a value packaged Hellcat and are somehow smarter than "all of us suckers" that were dooped into paying $70k.

Nevermind all of the extra reinforcing, cooling and added engineering that went into the Hellcat or the fact that it is fully warrantied.

No, no... S/C your 392 and cross those fingers. I'm sure you or some aftermarket shop knows how to tune these motors better than the entire team over at SRT.

KABOOOOM.

Well a 392 running a stock E-Force setup or so at 5psi will be fine, and get you at about 550RWHP, thats not to shabby. But i agree, the Hellcat is still a better deal in the end. One think i noticed when putting the E-force on my car. When you ADD that much power to a car that never had it, its becomes tricky especially in terms on traction control etc. Now you buy a Hellcat that came and was made for tons of power, and everything is made to work together its a big change. One of the reasons i find the Hellcat so easy to drive and manage the power is because everything was designed to work together.

Sorry but hellcat still is insane off the factory. Even 670HP for $12,000 upgrade won't match the extra handling, brembo brakes, supercharger whine and raw power of the hellcat in all aspects. Once you've driven a Hellcat you'll never go back to 392 HEMI. Former 392 HEMI owner here. Good luck man

For comparaison's sake, it took about 2-3 years to crack the 2011 and up PCM. Chrysler is fairly hardcore at protecting their PCM so it takes longer to crack them compared to Ford that don't really care about that.

Good points on the 392 and I have read stories about 392 motors S/C blowing pistons and other issues. And I have mentioned to many why did Dodge use the former motor then the newer one. And came to conclusion it's not designed for the S/C and as strong. I'll keep it simple and probably pass on installing the S/C all together. And I am happy with what I have and does enough for me and as u know there always be someone with a faster car at the end of the day. Thanks for all the good advice and happy HELLCATING to all.
