Just curious in the process of putting a hhp shortblock in ...does that make it more desirable in selling?
All depends on who's buying and who did the work... but for most people, it will actually reduce the desirability outside of people who actually race them....

Trade value, no. You would lose money or many dealerships won't accept it because of the significant powerplant modification (Online companies like Carvana, Vroom, Autotrader won't even consider it). And it goes without saying that if your HC is still under warranty, that's out the window. Private sale value might increase if the buyer tracks or autocrosses, but that wipes out 99% of all prospective buyers and makes for a lengthy sale if you have the patience. You almost never recover what you pay for in mods, and you should only mod for yourself and plan to keep the car.

Yeah unfortunately my tuner cracked a piston and I need to get it fixed and there's no hellcat short blocks around other than buying aftermarket I've been trying to find a stock one but no luck.

Also, no one has to know that you have better HHP internals.
I don't think HHP is by any means one of the Problem "Tuners" like some of the hacks that have regrettably gained access to cars as woefully listed on this forum.

I disagree . A new engine in any car is better then a worn out engine. A stronger engine is a plus. This is a hellcat not a neon people dont pony up the extra bucks to buy a hellcat to drive to church every sunday went a SXT is much cheaper and will do the same job and look very similar and has most of the same features. .While you never get every penny back it is still worth more then the same car with a high mileage worn out engine.

are modern motors even serial numbered to cars anymore? Are there factory replacement blocks that aren’t stamped?
Yes, all engines and transmissions are still tied to the car's VIN as before.

I know I would prefer a Hellcat with better engine internals, stronger transmission, DS, Diff, Axles, etc. Especially if the seller had all the original low mileage take off parts to go back to stock for possible collectors value in the future.
Tell me pictures of internals that look like this wouldn’t entice someone looking for a Hellcat? A transmission with a Trex name plate picture on it, a DS that looks like it’s off a Battleship, etc. I have to agree with Hpindy, people in the market for a Hellcat are performance oriented and the right person looking for an already built and time tested platform would see value in it. All be it you won’t get what you shelled out to get there but I think worth more than stock high mileage parts.

We’ll that’s wrong as far as I’m concerned. I won’t touch a modded car but I do drive my hellcat to ice cream and church.
