I don’t have the car yet, in a few weeks. I was just wondering how careful you have to be pulling into a parking spot with a cement curb. Does the splitter usually clear or will it just bash into it?
I see the published ground clearance is 4.5” too. Is that the splitter or is there something that hangs lower on the car somewhere?
The Hellcat actually had far less ground clearance than my C8. The front splitter hits everything. It'll drag coming in and out of turn offs, drive ways, etc. The front splitter clears a standard concrete parking bumper by about 1/64th of an inch. If that bumper has a metal rebar post sticking out the top, it can catch the splitter and rip the entire fascia off the car (guilty). I knew this going in, as I upgraded from a 2018 T/A, which is actually worse than the Hellcat due to its factory slammed suspension that puts the splitter about 1.5" lower than the Hellcat's. While waiting on my 2020 to be delivered, I ordered 3 spare Hellcat front splitters. I ended up using all 3 of them in the nearly 3 years I owned it.
My C8 has an axle lift system that lets it clear most anything. It also has 3 front cameras and an auto brake feature that stops the car from hitting something you "think" you can clear, but the car says, "Nah bro, stay put right here." I WISH my Hellcat had at least the front integrated camera.
The other thing you have to watch out for on the Hellcat is the mid body ground clearance. If you have a steep angle to traverse, the car can bottom out under the door handles. I did that a few times. When I bought my new house, I had to have a company come in and level my driveway so I could get the Hellcat down it.
