Not allowing ads so I cant read the article but - "they thought was their ride..."
Kind of sounds like they got into the wrong car.

Exactly. The scary thing is, I can see my wife or MIL doing this.

"but this just goes back to everybody being aware of their surroundings and making sure you verify what you’re doing prior to getting into one of these vehicles and again, trusting your instinct," Boteler told Fox 5.""

I don't use Uber often, but I always check the license plate to make sure it matches what I see in the app.
Exactly and for that I like the front plate states as it makes it easy to see if this is your car as it pulls up. But if not, just walk around the back before doing anything. Uber even tells you to do this verify your ride. If it doesn't match, just keep walking.

not sure if it's Uber or Lyft but one of them now sends a picture of the car and the driver to you before they arrive. I know in the early Uber days I never thought twice about jumping into the Uber but now times have certainly changed. sad

Many do but not all. There was even supposed to be a day where your first name would display on the sign as the car pulled up but haven't seen that yet.

I haven't had too many bad rides in Uber but you do have to watch them as most are just average guys and gals and definitely not professional drivers.
