Hello,
Brand new 2022 hellcat charger redeye (factory ordered) that i a few months ago is buldging slightly and developing a pattern on the leather parts of the front passenger door. Does anyone have this issue? Does it get much worse? Any tips or possible causes?
I was trying to figure out the cause of it but I'm kind of confused. I assumed it was heat related because my car has been outside this summer (i have a reflective cover over the dash that spans the whole windshield but that is all (about a month in 80s to 90s high temps) but the particular region of the door is not the hottest region of the leather and it is getting much worse faster than the other leather parts, even parts that get some direct sun. What is strange is that there is no shadows and the rear passenger door leather is doing so much better when there is virtually no difference in exposure and such.
This is pretty annoying for the next year or two i probably won't be able to garage park (although i will be renting a storage unit for the winter months) and i am feeling like the leather is going to be all baggy and gross in less than a year at it's current rate. I have a car cover which i plan to use for future summers but i didn't want to use it before i got my paint protection film because it would have just caused micro scratches.
I'm curious, what are the optimal steps to keep the leather nice for as long as possible?
