Yes, the V's from the factory are great. It's just too bad that my local Cadillac dealer can't even do an oil change w/o screwing it up, which is why I jumped to Dodge a couple years ago.For $100k Id buy a blackwing CT5 over any hellcat.
It just comes down to looks for me.. gen 1 CTSV was as good as they have every looked to me. I would go Hellcat over CT-anything if performance wasn’t the only criteria I was considering. For $100k Id buy a blackwing CT5 over any hellcat.
I’ve been on a list at Sewell since July and my build may finally get picked up. All Carbon fiber options have been put on hold. So if you want a chance at a Balckwing you have to go no CF.If you could buy one, then it’d be more impressive. I tried ordering one last month, and I couldn’t get a boss that would give me more than 50% odds that I’d ever receive the car. They all wanted a deposit, though.![]()
That’s what I was told, too. Even after I conceded to that, they said there’s a decent chance it may never get built before they re-tool in August/September.I’ve been on a list at Sewell since July and my build may finally get picked up. Not me. Ownership experience will fall off dramatically once it’s a few yrs old and out of warranty. GM has really dropped the quality ball over the last ten years. Finicky, over complicated, and plagued with electronic issues across the board. There’s no way I’d have my money sitting in one, performance be damned. For $100k Id buy a blackwing CT5 over any hellcat.
Youve got to call around and be willing to travel. I recently read someone claimed they put an order in at the end of Jan and their 5BW order was just picked up. How lucky is that? I know some guys were pissed because they ordered back in April. Supposedly, GM will sometimes look for specific orders that match 100% on what they can build this very minute. So they’ll comb the order system and just randomly pickup a 100% matching order, bypassing any dealer allocation procedure. Get your order in now, because you never know! That’s what I was told, too. If you ordered all the way back then, you should be good, but it’s still taken long enough!
And there are others that feel the opposite way. Good thing there's different vehicles for everyone in this world or it would be a very boring place.I would rather push my Hellcat than purchase anything from GM!
Point taken, but with as many times as Ive gotten the blue screen of death, non functional radio/conrols, rear camera problems, random reboots and other issues with the infotainment system/center stack in all 3 of my challengers (15/18/19), Im not sure I can say Dodge is all that much better. At least the Caddy interior is a bit closer to befitting a $$$ car.Not me. Ownership experience will fall off dramatically once it’s a few yrs old and out of warranty.
