I signed up for my first drag race in Long Island (there are no legal drag strips with in 100 miles of Nassau County).

My Redeye has only 100 miles on it. The race is Aug 21.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I better get up to 500 miles before I race this car!!
I am well below the break in mark.

500 miles is when the computer unlocks so that you can use line lock and launch assist and probably some other stuff I'm not thinking about. Dodge break in manual says do not race before 1500. So at 500 miles technically you will have all the race components your car comes with...whether or not you should is up to you. Like I said, I personally would not race at 500 miles.

OP, you do understand that is you go and race and bust it, you need to explain what you were doing to Dodge before they will fix it, right? That includes for them taking a close look at what exactly your car was doing minutes before its problem by accessing the in board computer systems which contain a whole bunch of info.

OP God forbid you had an engine failure, or any major warranty issue and they could deny your repairs. Why risk it? Be patient and wait. A lot of people don’t care and say “drive it like you stole it!” But if they happen to have a major warranty issue/claim, they could be crying hard. Whats the rush to race? Do it after you are broken in and WILL be covered. Do it right man...That’s my 2 cents, since you asked.

Don't do it. I saw a Hellcat Challenger at my dealer a couple of years ago with a BROKEN timing chain. Guy had gone way too fast with 120 miles on the ODO. Just FYI

As others have pointed out, everything is recorded now a days. If you race before 1500 miles, great chance of pissing away your warranty, if something brakes. FYI, the 1500 is required to break in things other than your engine. Such as rear ends, bearings, and what not.

Depends on how much money you are prepared to fix something if it breaks. If you're prepared to spend the money, they go for it. If not, please don't complain here if you break something and dodge denies warranty coverage.

Really? You can't just wait until you have 1500 miles on it? Is racing it really that important?

OK, enough of this nonsense."ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS — 6.2L AND 6.4L" Key Word : "RECOMMENDATIONS". So when it says "Dont Track the Car in the first 1500 miles" That is one of the RECOMMENDATIONS. The computer is not locked during the first 500 miles. You get full horsepower from the first startup. Ditto for drive modes.
The only thing you risk is noisy rear end gears. Engine is already broken in. Best way to bed in brake pads is at the end of the quarter mile.

Break in slow, it’ll always be slow. (Or so I've heard!) :)

One run, seriously, you are probably going to spin a little then T/C will intervene, then a WOT acceleration to maybe 120, the end. I think the car will live. One 1/4mi blast is not necessarily "racing", I would argue it is not even "tracking". It is just one legal WOT acceleration after 500mi break-in, no big deal. Some people would argue it is good to give the car an occasional blast after the initial 500.

I think the only real issue is if you break something expensive and they know what you were doing. If it breaks, have it towed to your house/hotel, then have the dealer tow it in and just say you floored it in the parking lot (or something plausible), but it won’t get that far. I wouldn’t do it but it’s your car, enjoy it!

To be fair no one here has said there was a power restriction or perf pages werent available. Launch control and line lock however are unavailable until 500 miles hits. Most of us are aware that the engines are already broken in and ready to go. It's the drive train that would concern me personally.
