All, I made the leap and sold my 6-speed WBSP for a 22' Redeye... it's obviously auto. I love it but one thing I miss is gentle revs when cruising through parking lots or while maneuvering at low speeds from time to time. How bad is it to shift from drive to neutral and back in these 8speed autos at 5-10 mph MAX?

Try it... works fine.

Yeah. Learned not to open the door while rolling in my C63s AMG the hard way. Terrifying auto break with a gut wrenching sound. Thought i broke it ..

Back to topic... I have tried it just wonder if its like a big no no as far as hurting the engine.


update - never mind... Probably ill advised. I guess I need to just get over the fact I dont have a 6 speed anymore and limit the revs to when i'm completely stopped and even then only occasionally. I just love the exhaust note. Thanks

I do it all the time. When out and about, people ask for a rev quite frequently. I'm all about obliging that request lol

Use the paddle shifter and downshift.

The art of coasting in neutral is part of "hypermiling" trying to get best gas mileage..I do it often and no issues..
