Well, issue just started. Went to dealer at 600 miles for one of two free oil changes. Got car back no issues. Nothing updated. (I asked) A min down the road the temp shoots up to 3/4 and the fan turns on at full blast and the temp goes down to it’s normal between the 1/4 and half marks. At the same time, the blinkers blink like they are put really fast, but only on the inside, outside they blink normal. Blinker issues comes and goes and goes away on its own. Temps have randomly going up to 3’4ths about 5 or 6 times but immediately go down. Oil is normal but I now hear lite airplane like ding from the speedo area. Rings twice then goes away.

All this only happens in eco mode. A day after the oil change, I went to a different dealer for the RF hub lockout update, car did the same stuff after I’m;Ickes her up, except no temp shooting up. Funky turn signals, a couple airplane cabin like dings from the dash that all disappear. No dummy lights, no codes. I did check the negative terminal and it’s tighter than a French whore in Thailand. Any WAG`s?

I'm not hip to your euphemisms. What car? What number temp is 3/4? Where is between 1/4 and half, number wise? Any lights on during dings? "I'm;lckes" is what? What is "WAG's"? I'm not hip bruh.

My first impression is this occurs in Eco mode? Who the heck uses Eco mode with their Hellcat/RE?

But on a more serious note the behavior could arise from a low power condition. The battery gets low. From lack of use from the car sitting. Not low enough it won't start the engine but low enough that when the starter is engaged the voltage level drops quite a bit and this glitches the car's electronics. This happened with my 2018 Hellcat and the symptoms were Performance Pages refused to load, or worse the LCD screen was filled with wide blue vertical bars.

But a more sinister problem was the +paddle rather than causing an up shift caused a down shift.

I never used Eco mode (or any of the other drive modes that came with my Hellcat) but it is possible a low battery voltage glitch could account for the behavior you report.

What I did was drive my Hellcat more often. It just didn't like to sit long between uses.

(Oh, and I had the car in for the +paddle issue and the shop foreman applied two updates, one to the PCM and one to the TCM. But I still used the car more often after. I had experimented enough before taking the car in to realize more usage and +paddle issue was less likely to occur or didn't occur at all.)

Thanks for the info. At night once a week, the car is on a tender. when I experienced the higher than normal coolant and oil temps, coolant was 226 and oil was above 200, not sure exact. Anyway, just had the oil changed, and drove 2 min from the dealership and was stopped briefly at a drive thru. Still happens but only in eco. I only used eco on the highway cruising, but now I switch it back on out of curiosity lol. Dancing chicken blinker thing went away. Oh well lol. I don’t use eco anyway and it doesn’t happen in 500 option either.

I wouldn’t use eco mode in a scat even if mds was deactivated in the tune cuz the lifters don’t like idle like rpm. Yers doesn’t have mds but the cam bearings don’t like low rpm either so don’t use eco around town. When on the highway high gear converter locked it makes no difference eco or sport

Want cooler temps install a Milodon 16406 tstat. Cruise 185° and never gets to 200 stop n go. 220° is normal for your 203° tstat when sitting

ps drugs are real is my wild ass guess

Once a week on the tender may not be enough. And the tender may not be putting out the necessary juice. Might want to check the tender to see if it is performing up to spec.

My Hellcat's coolant and oil temperature would go up when I used the car in town. Oil temperature could reach 238F. Never saw 226F coolant temperature though.

Radiator fan comes on at IIRC 216F. That's low speed. Switches to high speed if the temperature climbs much higher, but I don't recall the temperature but probably on the order of 5 or 6 more degrees.

Coolant temperature might (might..) have reached 220F but only with prolonged town driving on a rather hot day.

226F coolant temperature I think warrants an on the driveway test of the radiator fan operation. You can drive the car around -- with the A/C off -- to get the engine coolant temperature hot. Then go home. Open the hood. Put a helper in behind the steering wheel. Have helper raise RPMs (to ~1K and hold there) and observe radiator fans. Have the helper observe the coolant temperature and call out the temperature as it goes up. You want to observe the radiator fan(s) come on low speed at around 216F.

i agree, I had put eco mode on for the oil change just in case they drove it, but didn’t. And forgot to take it off when I drove away. The hi fan setting definitely did come on as it was the first time I heard it that loud lol. Once out of eco mode, temps never get that high, nor the fans come on.

As far as the tender is concerne, I have a tender plus and the weekly charge never needs much more than a few mins to blink a solid green as I drive her almost Dailey. Like I said, eco mode which I really don’t use, is the only factor I can duplicate.

In drive modes there is a eco button

Doesn’t change my engine tune, just lowers the shift points in the tcm

It might not be good for this engines longevity (as it supposedly doesn’t like low rpm) but it greatly improves fuel mileage

Only thing ECO did on 392 was to force 2nd gear starts, power didn't change.

Now if your talking Valet Mode then that drops the horsepower among other things.

Weird. Mine still starts off in low in eco? Short shifts big time tho. Jay Green is doing my trans tune for now, maybe he changed that? Don’t remember cuz it’s not something I regularly used

I tried it today. I was wrong. Mine starts in 2nd too. Tried to see if anything was different w the fans for you but could not tell. Recently installed a milodon tstat so my fan temps are off til next weekend. Even with a stat that keeps car at exactly 185° cruising it goes to almost 200 stopped. For what it’s worth 🤔
