I've read older posts on the topic. Some of the recommendations are now dead links or disconnected phone numbers. Plus I have some additional questions:

1 - Do you need to purchase an extended warranty plan before the existing factory warranty ends? (or is it just it's own independent product and doesn't matter?) My 3-year 36k is over, but my 5-year 60k is about to end soon, thus I'm shopping now. (2017MY)
2 - Some of the prior threads gave cost estimates--they're much lower than the quotes I've received so far. Is it typical for warranty plan prices to go up as the vehicle ages?

I think I'd like to find a mopar factory plan, but having trouble finding the right vendors.
I am most interested in one that will cover Dodge's new direct connect offerings, as well as at least powertrain.

Any recent recommendations, and/or price estimates anyone can share?

1. NO. 2. Maybe, BUT they go up with the length of them and deductible. Look up the details for yourself at Chrysler Warranty Direct. After the warranty expires, you'll need a generic inspection to get one, but they are simple. FYI, a lot of people and dealers don't even know about the inspection form.

I forget how expensive mine was. I priced out a 3y unlim extended mile warranty for mine (didn't buy it). I want to say it was around $4,800.

Sorry, you are outta luck. In order to get the factory extended warranty, you have to have some of the 3yr/36,000 left on the vehicle.
I believe you are mistaken. I got the official Mopar Max Care on my 2015 car, which was years out of warranty. The key is getting the "Inspection Form" done by an official FXCA dealer, and them entering it into the system. It's actually better after warranty since you don't have two "plans" at the same time. These extended ones run concurrently, not consecutive.

Here's a copy of a quote on a factory plan. If you read down to the 4th line,it asks if there's any of the 3yr/36000 warrenty left. I have a call into the agent from mopar that I bought my plan from, and will find out if they do any kind of inspection that you speak of.

Extended warranties are the mod-blocks of the performance world. You can do very little with your Hellcat without invalidating an extended warranty. If you plan to keep your cat stock, then an extended warranty would make sense.

Well, I've already had the transmission replaced twice under warranty. I assume the 3rd transmission will eventually give out just the same. I also worry about the differential giving out at some point.

I just replaced the alternator out of warranty, so that was $500 out of pocket--the replacement has a 2yr warranty, so there is that.

Are shocks/struts/bushings considered "maintenance" and not covered, or would they be covered?

I also would like at least whatever warranty needed to minimally cover the pre-stage kit and possibly at some point the stage-1 factory kit. Seems like factory-backed, warrantied power mod kits would be an ideal way to go. Still not cheap,

($900 for just a pulley seems kind of expensive--even if that includes the installation labor--but being warrantied changes things--thus my original post)

What other sorts of mods might block an extended warranty?
Doesn't an extended warranty also have to comply with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act?

I've been reviewing the options and looking at this comparison chart
I'm trying to determine which/how many items actually covered by the plans above the basic power train would cost more than the deductible--are there enough to justify the added price on any of these warranty options?

Eg, I know that replacing some of the HID headlamps can be pricey and have a lot of labor cost to do the job--but are those wear items or covered by electrical/safety?

I don't expect any suspension parts to fail--except for non-covered wear items anyways.

Maybe the "Added Care" would be worth it just to cover engine cooling--to replace the water pump or any of the coolers and lines if/when they need it.

Any thoughts, suggestions, experiences that might help me decide?

The biggest reason why I got it was because of all the electronics in these cars. Myself, I haven't had a problem yet, but a friend of mine that had a T/A and a Hellcat had the screen delaminate on both cars. Luckily he had the ext. warranty on both cars because that radio screen is expensive to replace. And they didn't just replace the screen, they replaced the whole radio.

I got the added-care-plus for 5/75k. It covers the powertrain and the electronics (in case my screen also delaminates). The difference between just the powertrain and the added-care-plus was quite small. The price jump to the maximum care was nearly double though, and I couldn't find any math that justified it.
