Hey hellcat friends, I hear that the factory puts our cars through a testing before they release them. Does this mean they will come with 20 or so miles on them already?

I all ready called the GM of the dealership as well as my salesman and told them NO_ONE takes joy rides in my car. The tec that gets the car ready, must take a short text drive to make sure everythg works but other than that, no one else is allowed.

I have worked as a vender for car dealerships over the past 20 years and know how car salesmen are as well as the tecs and such. They love to take joy rides and also go to lunch in demos and the new cars on the block.
I even sent my dealership and salesman a " DO NOT DRIVE SIGN" to be placed in the car window until I get there.

There is no 100% way to make sure joy rides do not happen unless you can be there from when it comes off the truck till you take delivery
GUARD YOUR HellCats my friends . Call your dealership General Managers and make sure your HC is safe and guarded !!

PEACE!

I think a lot of the testing is with the motor before it is in the car. It appears just a couple miles is most cases. Mine may have a bit more just because it gets moved around so much just to get on a train and a truck to get to me. I still think it will be pretty darn low. That is probably why the SRT tech has to test drive it to be sure everything is working properly.;)

I was looking at a 2015 Challenger that was sitting in the showroom at Videon Dodge last week. On the drivers window, there was a sticker announcing that the car was pulled for Factory Testing & it may have up to 65 miles on the odometer, the car had 43.

Surprised to see they actually put a sticker in the window about it

When I bought my '06 Charger it had the sticker on the driver side window stating it was pulled for additional quality checks. Car had just over 50 miles on it. Never had any problems with it during the 6 years I owned it.

Someone who took their car, My Challenger or the Dude I think it was, showed a picture with 2 miles on the odometer. He might be able to chime in with more details.
I purchased my '09 SRT8 from the same dealer The Dude got his Hellcat from, and my '09 had 2 miles on the odometer when I took delivery. That dealer makes sure he personally preps the car - no one else touches it.

Now in all fairness, that dealer's cars never get transported via rail car, so the car is moved from the production line to holding, then onto a New Car Carrier and onto the dealer's lot. Not all dealers are able to deliver new cars with only 2 miles on the odometer.
More "movement" is required to move a car by rail, so you should expect to see your Hellcat with 15 or less miles on it when you take delivery.

And all necessary "testing" is done at the Brampton assembly plant before the car is released. Unless a RRT or TSB is issued between the time of release and delivery to the dealership (which is extremely rare), no "dealer testing" should be necessary - unless the car is damaged in transit to the dealership and has to be repaired.

First thing I'm gonna do, if there are numerous miles on my Hellcat at time of delivery, is inspect closely inside the wheelwells for small dots of rubber, a sure sign somebody did a burnout with it, which would surely defeat that whole break-in process!

well unfortunately my dealership tests all their cars even the Dodge Vipers that come in and then puts them on the lot to sell to customers, there's no declining and it is required for my dealership, they already informed me when the hellcats come in this is what will happen between 5 - 15 miles. Of course he mentioned the SRT tech will be testing it and no one will be joy riding it.

Seems like "Prima Nocta" to me, but if that's their SOP, then it is what it is.
