So the flow chart that FCA put out saying who would get allocations is total BS.
Here is the somewhat brief story of our experience:
We have a good history and relationship with our sales guy so when rumors about the Hellcat Charger started going around we told him we were interested in ordering one. When the announcement of order date came up he called us and explained they were going to follow the same process as they did with the challengers (1st round ADM of $20K, 2nd round ADM of $10K and 3rd round MSRP). We said, we'll wait for the MSRP round. So I assume no one put a deposit down to order one and the dealer ordered 3 opening day as dealer orders. On Feb 10th, my salesguy called and told me they were going to sell the 1st round of chargers at MSRP and we could put a deposit down (ours was a lot smaller than others b/c we were a repeat customer) on one of their current orders which were at BX and C and could change whatever we wanted. I was the in his office that night with our deposit. So we were first in line for the chargers at that dealership.
On March 25th, he called me to tell me one of the other orders that someone had put a deposit on, received a VIN but the guy is backing out. He asked if we wanted to change to that one since ours was still sitting at BX. The only difference in the orders is the new one has legunia seats and BM wheels, so we said sure. Then on March 27th our original order received a VIN. We decided to stay with the new one at D1 instead of the original at D and they switched our name to the new one at some point within these few days.
Then that next week, the original order went D1 and the new one fell back to D. So after much back and forth with SRT rep, sales manager, etc., it was decided that we would get whichever one got built first. So I have been having RS, tracking both for me.
Current day... Our original order is built and in KZ status with a projected delivery date of 5/15 while the other one has been pushed back to a build date of early June. Since my hubby will be heading offshore on Sunday, I ask our salesguy for a projected out the door price so I can get the financing handled before he leaves. So he sends me the paperwork along with the current POC for the original order....
Here is where the proof that the FCA flow chart is BS.....
The POC has Dealer Order on it!!! Yes, it was our original order but when we opted for the other one, they removed our name, as they should have and IT IS GETTING BUILT AND DELIVERED BEFORE A CUSTOMER SOLD ORDER!!!!
So in the end, all this allocation information they have been feeding us is total crap!!
PS, I hope John Dodge doesn't see this and our car doesn't end up in rail yard purgatory!!
