Ok, true confessions time...

I'm 51 years old, and SD cards are not in my current litany...

BUT today I tried to update my software so some 13 year old can't hack my car, from my FCA SD card I received in the mail... first its smaller than the slot, I put it in with the help of the ultra expense cardboard FCA provided as a handhold, and I can't get it to recognize in either direction.

NO SD card recognized, nothing...

So could either the 13 year old hacker help me, or a more enlightened Hellcat owner tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Signed.... kinda miss points, condensers and carbs...

Did all that, still no luck... which way do the brass contacts point? Does it go in the center of the receptacle because the card is much wider...

My dealer did the anti hacking update about a month ago.It was part of the national FCA recall update. They used a thumb drive and it took about 10 minutes. Perhaps just take it to your dealer next time you go. I am 58 and this new fangled technology causes my brain to "blow up".....lol:p:p

Augdog1964, et al...If you don't want to do the dealer thing, I suggest you purchase a thumb drive (memory stick), crank up your computer, open the Internet and migrate to the u-connect web site. You'll be directed to where, after you install the thumb drive into your computer, you can download the very same update to the thumb drive.

The thumb drive will work more easily in the center console USB port. There are some lag times and it's hard to be patient, but you can do it.

Im not worried about some school nerd hacking my car, its spends most of its life locked in my garage...attached to my house, where I store my fire arms....

If you have not set up your u connect it will not work. So the first thing is set up uconnect. Then try the sd card again.
Be sure to follow all the directions.
