I ordered an Ivory Tri-Coat Pearl yesterday. The guy at the dealership seemed to have absolutely no idea when I could expect to get my car. He threw 6 months out there but said it could be even longer. Does anyone have real info on how long the wait should be? I had no idea how nuts the wait was going to make me until the order was placed. He said there were only 3 orders from his dealership ahead of mine. I have no idea how any of this order crap works.
Not sure where u are from but I am in Canada and I know my dealership doesn't even know when they get one they had two allocations I ordered mine the day it opened and they said they dident know when then on the 25th they called and said Chrysler emailed them and told they had a allocation for a feb build he told me he had to answer by 11am or they give it to another dealer so they called me I went down signed a purchase order with the price and everything and I had a vin# by the 27th so from what I can gather from dealers around here they just get told they have a allocation but don't know when so the dealers play the same waiting for the phone to ring game we do! I have bought 7 vehicles from this dealer from 2012 to now and they have been absolutely the best have always done exactly what they have told me I have all the trust in the world in them and good luck to u hope u get yours sooner then laterI ordered an Ivory Tri-Coat Pearl Charger HC yesterday. Congrats! Please let us know if this bears out: lots of us in a holding pattern wondering when they are going to start serious production.Mine is supposed to hit the production line tomorrow!!![]()
It sounds as if your dealer has no "Allocation" if that is the case you maybe waiting until open orders are taken and that could be 3-6 months , just a guess, the demand for the HC Charger is no where near the Challenger , but you should have gotten on a dealers list that has allocations, lot are selling for MSRP you just need to find one.I just got an email today from my dealer saying my car has a VON Vehicle Order Number. So now what happens next? Guy I'm working with doesn't seem to know anything.
The dealer only told me that there were 3 orders from their dealership ahead of mine. He did not say anything about having allocation but he did say he thought it would take 6 months to see my car.It sounds as if your dealer has no "Allocation" if that is the case you maybe waiting until open orders are taken and that could be 3-6 months , just a guess, the demand for the HC Charger is no where near the Challenger , but you should have gotten on a dealers list that has allocations, lot are selling for MSRP you just need to find one.
They are not built on a first come first serve basis. Yours can be picked up before the other 2 unless your dealer specified as order but they rarely do. So far things moved real quick on the 1st and 2nd week but then stalled. We should have a better clue in the next week or soThe dealer only told me that there were 3 orders from their dealership ahead of mine. Just to elaborate a bit more, Dodge's allocation system is a bit counterintuitive. You'd think that customer orders would be prioritized, but that's not the way it works. The allocation scheme allots a certain number of cars per dealer and that dealer's orders are then matched up with allocated units. You might want to see if there are other dealers near you that have allocated cars that aren't yet sold. The dealer only told me that there were 3 orders from their dealership ahead of mine.
