Installed a dash cam in the hellcat. Bought it Amazon, it had great reviews. It took about 20 minutes to install and hide the wiring. Not the ideal location I wanted to put it but the rear view mirror would get in the way if you put it any higher on the windshield. Now for pictures.

Yeah, might want to not impede your vision...

You really don't need to mount it to where you can see the screen. You're looking out through the windshield at the same thing the camera is seeing. When I had one, I mounted it up to the right of the rear view mirror. I hate having anything in my line of vision.

I think I have used an apeman action camera before. Or at least have heard of them. It'll serve its purpose. I've been thinking about getting one. I just had a friend get a ticket for drag racing and he has video evidence showing he wasn't. There were two other cars next to him that raced and it showed he didn't. That and if I get in an accident I want proof it wasn't my fault.

I just put one in my car from Escort. It isn't the best with only 1080P and no rear camera but it mounted to my blend mount with the radar detector. Does yours have one facing the back? I wanted one of those. If it doesn't like said above you don't need to see the screen and can put it up higher.

I've got the C420D (not sure if it's the exact same one). Love it! Front camera is basically between dash and rearview mirror on driver's side. Mounted the rear camera to the underside of the rear brake light housing. No visual obstructions even with the stupid long connector for the rear camera poking out the side of the front camera.

If you figure out a more elegant way to make it lock a recording let me know! I just give the thing a hard flick with my finger if I want to lock a video. You know, just for when I see something crazy like an idiot go off in the median but doesn't actually hit me.

After driving around for a while I actually like where it's at. Doesn't get in my way at all. Also the screen blacks out after 2 minutes so it doesn't attract my attention. It's a Screensaver function.

On mine I have to hit the menu button to lock a video. I'm sure that's what you do as well. I don't have the rear camera

in several states anything hanging below your rear view mirror is a ticket for impeding your vision.

looking at the crosswalk from your pov shot, there COULD be someone behind your camera, can't tell cause your camera is blocking vision. (granted they'd be like 2' tall)
