There is no set time, so you'll get many different recommendations, the factory will say a high mileage, like 7500 miles is OK. I did mine at about the same mileage you have, I was at 875 miles. (The gauge that shows oil life said I still had like 87% of oil life remaining!) Others have gotten their oil changes at 500 miles, or perhaps 1000, some at 3,000 miles. (So you should be good, even if you don't go in right away.) If you are going to race it, quarter mile, you should be fine. But for full day track events, such as extended autocrossing, road racing, top speed tests, that require extended periods of full throttle use, Dodge recommends waiting until 1500 miles are on the odometer. Enjoy your great car!

couldn't say it any better than X-men up there....I planned on getting my oil changed between 500-1000 miles but being a daily driver that went by VERY quickly. I got it changed at 3000 mile about a month after I picked her up.

I'll be doing mine around 2500-3k depending on my work schedule. Not because i don't trust the 7500 mile change interval, because i drive it alot harder then they suggest for the 7500 interval.

I am changing mine at 3k. It's all personal decision. My take on it...if Chrysler wanted us to drain the oil after the 500 mile break in they would tell us too. I mean hell they took the time to put in the manual the break in steps. You would think if they REALLY wanted the oil changed at 500 they would of told us in that section.

Thats my stand and I am sticking to it!!!!!

But to each their own though. Won't hurt doing it now.

i drive very hard myself.. more like 150's thats why i wondered to change the first oil by 1000 miles. i do realize that the new engines technologies dont use oil like it used to, but probably my old brain doesnt grasp it and wants to do this to be safe :)

Trust me, unless your doing pulls and driving 80mph+ every day since it's your daily driver changing oil at 1k is way still early. My 08 charger SRT gets exactly what i put up there and when i pull my dipstick today at 2k miles, it's still nice clean unburnt oil and at the perfect level.
