I looked underneath my Car for the first time Because I plan on changing my own oil. And after researching how to change oil on the Hellcat.

EDIT: Can a Moderator fix the title? I meant to say 300 miles. It just says 300.

I noticed on the shield/cover underneath the splitter, there’s a square plug missing. It looks like it was maybe scraped or hit something, you can see a scratch or two. And there’s 2 holes missing push pins or bolts right next to the plug.
Either the guy that drove the car onto and off the car hauler did it when delivered, the factory or dealership. Because I haven’t hit anything in my first 300 miles and haven’t parked it anywhere. Just been driving it, trying to break it in and it goes back in the garage. What mechanical parts are right behind and above there? I don’t think anything else is damaged but in one of the pics there’s a broken piece of what looks like hard plastic. And yea I know it’s filthy under there. The whole car was filthy when delivered. Looked muddy.

I have a 2016 NB HC but I think it’s an access normally covered with a rubber grommet like the other access points in your pics. No problem, just get a new grommet. It’s very unlikely you have any damage as a result of losing the grommet.

Thanks for the reply. The second post. In That picture , looks like a broken piece of plastic. Probably won’t effect anything though. But nothing mechanical. The car runs and drives great. The oil, coolant and other gauges show they get hot. But on 90 degree days. It’s normal.

Doesn't look broke, looks like it was cut. Maybe a modification of an existing part, it does happen.
You mean possibly cut and modified at the factory?

The dealership did a shitty job inspecting that new car. I thought they put all brand new cars on lifts for inspection before selling them. But It looks like nothing too serious. I definitely have to get a new square plug. Or grommet. I have to cover that hole with something before I get the plug. But I drove it on nice days for 300 miles and nothing , as far as I know got in there.

possible.
Is there a plug on the right side?
A lot of times these types of covers are symmetrical and I am honestly asking because I am not sure about this model. (worked in a body shop for quite some time but its been years)

It’s still parked in my small 2 car garage. I’ll check out the right side ASAP. I just have to back it out of the garage. But I’m still breaking it in. They said no excessive idling or really short trips for the first 500 miles.

My 2020 is the same. Both sides. Must be something for shipping. Def not damaged and not cut after the fact. Whatever it is it’s supposed to be there.

Wow. Thanks for letting me know. I googled and found a few cars that had all of those installed.
And if you look for Mopar parts online. They sell the square plugs.

@Slowpoke387

This post I started has over 300 views so far and only 4 people posted. Two of us only are missing those plugs/covers.

Either the other member views have those square plugs, don’t know or care if they do lol

Here’s a couple pics of my car right off the truck transport. Did they drive straight from the Canadian plant? I guess it could be dirtier though. They somehow ****** up my window sticker. But the dealership ordered me another one and I have it. My name is on it. Says I ordered the car.
Had to add a clean pic too.

If anyone cares I think this is the square Mopar plug. If you wanted to cover those access openings. Link.

Also, Just searching around those square plugs cover the bolts to remove that bottom shield. So you can replace the front splitter. But, there’s alot more steps , push pins , bolts to remove the whole front splitter. Looks like a real pita. Lol…

I found another Hellcat Redeye in a different post that has an opening on the far left side.
It’s a dark pic. but it looks like an opening. Can’t see for sure if it’s square shaped either.
Link and it’s Post #4

Ya better plug up that hole. A mouse might jump up in there and and chew up all your wiring. I got these custom rubber push plugs that seal up each of the lug nut access holes to keep dirt and debris out of those holes and the manufacturer says it adds 1mph top end speed due to less turbulence at the wheel center.

Yep. The Square plug isn’t on the passenger side either. I’m just curious why they left those out on each side. I didn’t mean to make a big deal out of it.

I took my car to a self car wash, Put the pressure washer on high. I got some of that dried up shit off. I need to get some better cleaner to finish.

The dealer I ordered my car from also jacked up my window sticker. I requested them to order a new one and the sticker took longer to get than the car. I waited 2 months for my car to be built. I waited 6 months for a window sticker.

I wouldn't say these are problems, it's typical low quality control for dodge products. Pull off your front wheels and see if you find rust. See my attached photos. 22 charger with 1300 miles, picked up in april and we are in July.

It's a hellcat but at the end of the day it's a dodge, I can pick apart my hellcat that had 4 miles at delivery but ask me to do the same on my m8, old m5, e55, 488's, etc etc and it becomes a lot more difficult.

That sucks man. You should show that to your dealership and Dodge.

I love my car so far. I’ve taken a good look underneath, it’s just dirty from shipping. Although I do have a couple regrets. I should’ve ordered a different color than Black.

Dodge left those square plugs out for some reason. Older cars don’t have them either.
