22' Hellcat RE WB still on its stock Pirelli's launching off idle, basically with no real ability to hold any RPM. I'm very happy with an 11.5 @ 123. What do you guys think?

I've got a set of MT Street R's on Weld's coming from another member here that I'm very excited to throw on and go back with. Should be able to launch nice and hard with those and cut that 60 foot down.

Can't say enough about the car. As a first time racer, I was definitely pretty nervous but almost right away it turned into excitement at how well the car handled and felt hurtling down the track. The chiller and the race cool down also worked flawlessly all night. Just an awesome experience all around and I can't wait to go back with a proper setup and get those times down even further!

The ET makes perfect sense and I would say very good. Is 123 all you would expect this Charger to trap? When you get some traction the ET will obviously come down but will the trap improve? Not throwing rocks, just trying to understand. I've made about 40 passes in a couple different cars and I never ran what I thought I should so I know how things can go at the track. Are the better trap speeds I have seen due to better DA, traction, driver, the car, or a combination of all? Thanks and congrats.

My best trap of the night was 126 and came on an 11.9 which I found interesting. Maybe a difference in air temp or DA. Not really an expert on that.

Stock Pirelli all seasons, around the waterbox no burnout/scuff, 32/33 PSI (normal street PSI for me. No changes)

Looking forward to my first 10.X!

Trap speed is hp

22 mph back half is weak for anything with a power adder
That might be true, but for the first time at the track, He did Great! More practice and track time (and cooler weather) will help. Not too mention when he gets those E/T Streets on will help out a bunch too!

Welcome to your new Addiction BowlerGuy92! You did Great for your first time and things are only going to get better from here!

I'd say you'll knock 4 tenths off just in 60' when you get the ETStreets on there.
Excellent first outing! 10.XX's are right around the corner.

You might want to begin playing with your line lock so that you'll be able to use it properly when you need it at the track. One tip: use your index finger to hold the button, it's sooo easy to fat finger it with your thumb and hit another button at the same time causing the line lock to disengage.

Thanks for that information. 126 is more in line of what I was hoping you would communicate. 60 ft is where so much of the ET is gained or lost and you don’t have a fighting chance on those tires. Even with a tire you’ll be trying to optimize multiple variables to cut that good 60 ft and ET. It’s a good pass for your first try. To get that best time takes a lot of practice and tweaking. I got embarrassed so many times (manual car, different game) but the experienced guys at the track were always helping to dial in tire pressures and launch techniques. You can sure learn a lot along the way. Good luck!

Nice, OP, just wait till you get your tire/wheel setup, you'll be very pleased, more addicted, and excited from just simply mashing the throttle to the floor off the line with them (depending on how well prepped your track is).

Then you'll be obsessed about chasing better and better numbers on that time slip. ;)

You are my hero... I too want and wanted to spent time on the track this year..........but......how do you guys deal with insurance? mine says no go.......and I dont think I could afford to smash up the car and not get it fixed (that would make me soo sad)
That's an easy one. If you can't afford to run your car off a cliff with zero reimbursement then you really better be careful at the strip as it's all on you. I have seen cars cross the center line and take someone else out (that's racing) and also saw a showroom new Viper make a hard left turn into the concrete wall right at the finish line. You can minimize your chances of negative events by racing on a track with a solid tech in that weeds out the unfit and unsafe cars - the ones that drop fluids and create catastrophic issues. A well run track is also cleaned and checked for debris at appropriate intervals and after any incident. I have walked away from a couple really shady 1/8 mile tracks. There was no tech in required, the surface was not level, and you could not even see the the turn off at the end of the track as it dropped down a 40 ft. hill just past the finish line (and they have had a bunch of bad wrecks on this slipshod track).
At a well run track your chances of something catastrophic happening are not all that great with late model street cars trapping 110-130 mph. Its a calculated risk. Broken parts are a given when you push any envelope so you will observe a lot of that.
I am aware of a special racing insurance but I will have to say that I have never met anyone at a test and tune that had it. Your not covered by any traditional insurance that I have seen.

Only the better air is gonna improve how his car back half’s and it’s gonna be a very small improvement. Practice n tire doesn’t effect that at all

Keep having fun : )
