New model is announced Tuesday around 8am.

9am - call my closest dealer, 50 miles away to place an order, he tells me 'local clients first' and does NOT take my deposit

9.15am - call the largest Lambo dealer in FL, down in West Palm Beach, and they ask for a $20k deposit to be wired and says he will text me the wiring instructions, one day later ,,,,, no wiring instructions and crickets

.... it is a strange world!

It's amazing to me how money doesn't mean anything to some of these businesses. they could care less if you have money or not. I tried to make a deal at a local dealer with cash and they told me go away because they make more money when you finance the car instead of buying it cash. I've tried to set up a wholesale parts account at a huge local dealer and 5 weeks later I finally hear they can't get ahold of some of my references at other dealerships. don't you think if they wanted my account they would contact the dealer and ask for the accounts dept? they could care less. I've put down deposits on rare Fords thru the years to just get it sent back to me because one of their buddies wanted that car. Weird World for sure!! jmo

The high end of any market is more relationship driven..most "exotic" dealers have a cadre of regulars that flip into the latest and greatest...as a new customer you will be steered towards the lightly used on the floor models...In general you have to be quick and nimble( like vanilla ice)...you may have to do a ton of legwork...
