Yeah, it's been part of the direct connection Catalog since launch. Been debating myself but keep stalling once I realize it's realistically going to be $7kish after paint, install and then wheels/tires. Love having the option though since I doubt Dodge will ever let me buy a new M6 B5 Blue widebody again.

lol i used to be a flare hater too. I still cant stand the aftermarket crap kits but the oem WB looks killer. I'd never go back now.

My RE WB has 3'09's. Screams. It's a '20 though. Back when you could have a RE with 3.09's w/o being forced into the commercial JB model.

My 2003 Nissan Frontier has flares. The wide body looks good but they should have molded the flares into the body.
Lol I used to think that too until I saw renderings. TBH it looks horrible. Was surprised.

Exactly not a fan of the truck flares either, but to each his own.

I spoke with one of the design engineers at the Detroit auto show a few years back and he told me that they had to go with the Bolt on's for the demon and the later widebody because if they went flared steel body panels they would have had to redo all the crash tests, which would have cost a ton.

LOL envy. I think if I wanted that option I could’ve pushed that option button. Plus WB are notoriously slower than NB in 1/4. Extra weight and no 3.09 gear I’m gonna pass. Not going to pay more for a slower car.
So why didn't they make the Demon a NB? Not really debating here. Just curious if what you say is true, then wouldn't the Demon be a standard body?

My guess is a clash between the styling crew at FIAT and SRT who wanted to build a drag car. If the style is a performance advantage why haven’t the Drag Pak cars gone to this look? You know what wins on Sunday is supposed to sell on Monday. They got it right with the 1320 Challengers IMO & would have loved to see a Hellcat powered version.

I must say I'm a big fan of the WB Challenger. I never even seriously considered purchasing a Challenger until the WB version came along. The slab side NB just never did much for me.
I guess that's why the offer both versions.. to each his own.

They needed the flares for the wider wheel/tire combo for the increased torque/hp, wouldn't pass certification with tires extending beyond the wheel well/body.

Engineers doing their engineering stuff 😁.
