Yeah a plate will hide it, it's not a super big deal just the fact that they screw plates on like animals.

I probably will buy that piece of stripe and have the PPF place apply it when I go back for some other work though, I think it's around $50 for that piece of stripe.

Oh crap that scares me. I want so bad to just have mine delivered still in the wrapper. I know with the new guidelines they have to drive the cars and they hook them up for a systems check but crap just like all the swirl makes in the paint I had to deal with on the 19 HC this is just BS.

I ALWAYS do the plate stuff myself. I have seen so many dealers damage cars minute one when ham fisting on the plates. ESPECIALLY when they have to drill them in new. God help you if they holes are not already there. Even with the dimples, I've seen them put plates on sideways or completely miss the dimples and drill off center making the plate look ridiculous. This shouldnt be the case, but we as car guys forget that 99.99% of the monkeys that work at the dealers all the way up to their senior managers are NOT CAR PEOPLE. They are there to move metal and make money. So its all just a job to them. I keep forgetting that with their techs as well. You'd think just about every mechanic would be a car guy but they are basically appliance repair men. If that.

now that I think about it I'm glad I had the stripes. If those Neanderthals screwed in that bracket without the stripes my paint would definitely have a nice scratch in the clear coat from that sharp cheesy dealer frame they put on.

At least my stripes protected the paint!

Do you find that your stripes collect a lot of dust and dirt?

My dealer has already gotten the talk from me and he is onboard.

"Take it off the truck and leave it be" was my instruction to him. He is a car guy and totally understands.
