Not quite sure what I can do with it since I have a redeye, can this be installed in non demons ? This is the race ecu I believe, I saw a post a while ago where someone did this but I can’t find it

I don't believe so, unless said non-Demon has the same UConnect subsystem type.

Unlikely, without causing other problems - isn't going to be plug and play. You'd also have no way to get it into HO mode unless doing a few other things.

Surprised someone bought a Demon without requesting the crate PCM to go with it.

Can you post a pic of one? He said Race ECU not PCM, I'm not that familiar with the electronics so are the terms ECU and PCM interchangeable? Does the Demon come with two different ones?

PCM = Powertrain Control Unit. Sometimes people call them an ECU. That is not the Race or Crate PCM. It's the Assembly line PCM.

Power Control Module, Power Control Unit, or Electronic Control Unit/Module (ECM?) they are interchangeable terms? So I can understand; there is a "Primary" PCM that is the cars computer then there are sub-systems that control individual components. THE PCM makes everything work together and tracks the cars data, how can or why can you change this out (with exception of damaged/defective part)? I understand it's not your job to educate me dragrcr I'm just not understanding why this would be removed or changed out, can't you save everything in the Tuner*?

Another misused term as the Tuner is the one performing the work but essentially it's just a computer program that's connected to the PCM and 'unlocks' codes (at least according to Dodge DC). What's the generic term, Tazer?

In the Ford world where I wrenched for 40 years. ECU/ECM = engine control unit/module. It controlled only the functions of the engine. The transmission was controlled by a separate TCM (transmission control module). When the two were combined, it was called a PCM (powertrain control module)

PCM is the computer, that runs a program/software. The tuner connected is how you load new programming into the PCM. Our cars have the TCM for the transmission on the valve body within the trans.

You can change it out to an unlocked one to tune, or have to have the original one unlocked. Otherwise can’t tune it.

To change a RE screen, you’d need a PCM with Demon tune, tazer, and BCM.

There are some tuners out there that have kits to do this.

For real ? I’d super appreciate if you could help me find where/how to do so or point me in the right direction. Like is there a site or do you have to go to a shop to acquire what’s needed ?

I'm more concerned with the fact that his "buddy" apparently gave/sold him the original PCM... so he either modded his Demon with an unlocked aftermarket PCM or is running the race ECU full time. Either way, poof goes the value on that Demon.

Maybe someone on here wanting to tune their car will buy it so they don’t have any down time? There’s a shortage in unlocked pcm’s right now. First you gotta figure out what cars use that part number ending in 1598
