I have a 2016 Hellcat. As I cannot believe how lousy the HK system is (my wife's Durango has the HK system and it sounds so much cleaner) but I digress... I started replacing speakers as that has gone a long way for me in other Mopar vehicles. I noted an instant improvement replacing the 3.5 dash speakers. I moved on to the doors today. I ordered the wrong quick connect adapter, so I wired the speaker in splicing the wires together and removing the quick connect altogether... And now I have no sound. Checked and rechecked everything several times. I'm at a loss here. Are the electronics that sensitive to "not like" my wire splice? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well never mind. I went OCD and soldered the speaker connections... All is working now. I guess something in the electronics did not like inline wire connectors...

Yeah my wifes 2021 Durango makes my 2015 Hellcat sound like crap. What did you put in the doors?

What speakers did you go with? Been debating a change in mine.

I put Infinity Reference in. They have worked good for my in three other vehicles (my Ram Rebel, my previous Ram 1500 and my previous Charger)... This system makes me crazy - can't EQ it properly and that bass! It's so overwhelming. I listen to rock/classic rock/metal/blues and jazz and its been a fight to get a decent overall sound. One thing I did that I "learned" from my Ram was that I disconnected the center dash tweeter and left the 3.5 as a mid range driver. This definitely cut back on the tinny treble I was getting from the HK speakers (and after pulling them out, what absolute JUNK!). I have the rear shelf speakers (putting larger 5 1/2" speakers back there) and rear sidewall (?) speakers (swapping the 3.5s).. We will see how it ends up. I wish there was a dedicated bass knob like you would get from a normal system to tone down the subs...

The stock HK head unit has enough power to drive the infinity ref speakers?

Oh yeah. I put those in the dash, and actually didn't like them. Too "tinny" for me, so I went back to the stockers. Plenty of volume though.

No issues with HK amp driving the speakers. Still fighting with the (lack of) EQ settings to try and get good sound. Used the fader to reduce some of the bass (and I did turn off the horrible “surround sound”). I will re-evaluate after I replace the rear shelf and passenger sidewall speakers. Still not overly happy with this system. For a 2k option on a vehicle, I expect way better than this. I’m no audiophile but this system is embarrassingly bad.

I fought with the "I hate the HK system" in both of my Hellcats. Then I made a choice and never looked back.

The Infinity speakers are 3 Ohm - I did not note any significant volume drop.
