These cars are not aligned after assembly, so it will be interesting to see the printout.

Did they take you to the car and show you why you need new control arms??

No they did not. He told they looked at the whole suspension and it was and in working order but he said the uneven wear on my rear tires was an indication that my control arms are going bad and that they would be able to properly fix the alignment in the front with out replacing them. My tires are more worn on the inner side but that’s partially due to the factory camber.

They should take you to the car and show you what and why the arms need replacing.

Take it to a local Goodyear Store and get a second opinion. Their explanations are way, way too vague.

We could use pictures of all tires along with where the tires are installed (RF, LF, etc), mileage, original, etc. Yes, these cars do wear the inside of the tire due to negative Camber, but am also curious about any feathering and what the outer edge of the tire looks like.

Suggest doing a search on my name with keyword "align" to see how to align these cars to an EXACT Toe In value for all 4 wheels.

Your front sway bar frame bushings are bad if the bar is rubbing the tire. How dumb is the mechanic at the dealership? The bushing looks blown out like the raised lip on the bar is getting through the bushing to the wrong side, making the bar hang too far to one side and touch the tire.

Looks like you could wiggle the bar in there...

I could understand the sway bar had shifted to one side or another but I don't think I could buy the control arms being bad. Maybe control arm bushing but that would still be a stretch. Definitely time for a second opinion.

It is the sway bar bushing, the car would be undrivable if it was a control arm, and you would see the control arm bushing practically missing in the arm. It would have so much play you couldn't miss it.

Tires in order. RF LF LR RR. The front tires have 6-10 thousand miles on them. They were on the car when I purchased. They have no signs of bad tread wear none at all. The rears have less than 2k. Mostly burns out. And yes stock size tires and rims.

If it drives fine, makes rub noise at hard cornering, it is the sway bar shifting.
You should be able to inspect the bushings on the arm and move the tire and feel play if it was an arm.
Their was another write up about this within the last year.

Sway bar frame bushings.
Disconnect the end links on both sides with the front tires at same height, both hanging.
Shake the wheels and check for play.
Have a buddy on one end of the bar, and you on the other. Shake the bar, lots of play in the bushing i bet.
I bet the bar slides through the bushings easily.
That is the erratic steering when it pops through.
