Hey all, I just had the fuel pump in my 2019 charger hellcat replaced at the dodge dealership. I filled up the tank this morning and got a random whiff of gas inside the car, where is the fuel pump located so I can check the connections? I can't find anything online!

There are actually two fuel pumps… the primary fuel pump module is on the driver’s side… and the secondary is on the passenger side.

The fuel pumps are submerged in the gas tank right under the rear seat… and accessed by removing the bottom rear seat cushion.

I still get whiffs of gas every now and then. I'm due for that EVAP canister recall and wonder if that has anything to do with it. The sheet actually says, ".............may be unable to absorb the necessary amount of gasoline vapors during vehicle refueling.......... It is Emissions Recall UB4.

Oh! I wonder if that's what I need! I topped off my tank this morning and that's when I smelled it!

when they replace your pump they should have used a new o-ring sometime they can be a pain if not glued down when putting the lock back on. And also if you had 1/2 or more they could had let some seep out at a 1/2 tank you can unlock the ring and take the hat off without gas coming out

what do you recommend I do? I popped the back seat up and smelled the driver side fuel pump and it smelled like gas from the outside of it..its a bummer that the service department isnt open on sundays and I go out to sea on tuesday for a week..

if you smelled after you topped of the tank it's most likely the o-ring didnt seat properly. If you can get back to the service department...You can take the lock off with a punch and hammer but I wouldnt recommend that I have a tool that just slide's over the lock and you can take it off with a 1/2 pull handle. But you dont have that....but you can take it off with a long punch once you get the lock off be careful the hat may pop up once the lock is off look under lock and see if the o-ring is good. If they used the old one it's most likely flat on one side. But to me they should fix it with no charge. But you have to get some fuel out first anything over a 1/2 tank will run everywhere inside car and under

it is possible they didnt get the lock ring all the way if not it will leak a little....just pop your bottom rear seat up and slide it out....look at the lock ring and you can see some groove's and can tell if it's seated all the way. If not that's a easy fix just find small 1x1 or short 2x4 and look at which way it need's go too completely lock. Once you see it it's easy to tell...shouldn't maybe 5 mintues
