My wife and I have loved the look of the new Challenger ever since it came out. We've always talked about having a "summer" car but with us both being Harley owners we kind of spend all the free time we have riding as much as we can. Lately, due to some life moments, we have been talking about getting a Challenger to also enjoy . We have no problem buying an used Cat and more than likely will. Its not going to be a strip toy or worry about every extra hp kind of thing, maybe just a tear up a wise-ass punk type of thing. Just kinda hoping for any info on any yr, recall, or problem that can help with our search. Thanks again....Scott

What year range are you thinking? Widebody? Redeye? Manual or auto?
All points to consider.

In 2019 they bumped the power up some (10hp), and had some changes in hood design and electric steering.
Power train warranty is 5 yrs so a 2017 and up will have at least the power train warranty left (and select 2016s, depends on when it was bought new).

Some notes:
Superchargers did make some noise in the early 15 and 16s. (makes a whining bearing noise at idle, most replaced under warranty)
All hellcat have crazy brake dust, easy fix with different pads
Differentials can groan in slow parking maneuvers (its from the posi clutches and usually fixed with fluid change + friction modifier)
uconnect can sometimes be finicky (just keep up with the updates, not always a fix though)

Other than that the hellcat is pretty solid, and most of the problems are few. Keep in mind most people only come the the forums when they have a problem, so there are many out there that have had zero issues. Its mostly just pick body style and color then enjoy.

Thanks for the info Dennis.

Yr doesn't really matter to us but looking for a regular body auto. Love the Mango and Reds the most. We've been a Mopar family for a long time as the wife loves her Rams and I have had a couple Durangos. I've been noticing that $50k can get you a very decent selection of Cats.

Thanks again
