Hello everybody

I recently acquired a 2015 Dodge Challenger hellcat. I traded in a 2017 Daytona 392

so I drive in 500 everythings all good no spin but soon as I switch to 700+ and instantly lose traction regardless if it’s from a dig or if I’m already accelerating back tires spinning and fish tailing I go.I currently have stock Perelli p zeros on the car with fairly good amount of tread

alignment is all in order I recently just checked out. This will be my daily driver without a doubt and I’m on the east coast so we go through all the weather changes.

so all season tires is a must for me but just suck that I can’t even utilize the 700+ without fish tailing lol.

I’m also not looking to go to any track or make this a track just a bad ass street daily driver

I was also looking at the demon killer springs that transfer weight to the rears when accelerating.

thank you and sorry for the very long post.

NITTO's 555's and Firehawk Indy 500's are the best. I ran both. NITTO's could be a bit better than teh Firehawks. Mickey Thompson's and Coopers suck... oh yeah.... I ran all of them on the stock Hellcat rims but put on 305/3520 tires. The stock Hellcat size is way too small. Also I installed a stabilizer for less back end sway.

You will stil have to relearn your foot to pedal response, these cars make 600+ ft lbs of torque at less than 2000 rpm....learn to EASE into the throttle and you will find it's much easier to control.

Unfortunately I cannot run summer tires since the climate changes a bit frequent and a hassle to keep switching from summer to all season every other day.. did the stabilizer make a big difference

I can agree I do need to practice that but I also try not to mash the pedal either. But It’s very hard to not be able to utilize all the power and I fish tail regardless if I’m driving then wanna put the power down

Get a set of replica wheels and put on some 555r's and use those during more stable months. They're pretty good in rain and light years better than stock tires. Throw your stockers back on when the weather gets dicey over winter months.

I put the stabilizer on the same time I put on my NITTO's, I felt practically no more slippage. SO I cant tell you it was the tires 100%. You drive your HC in the winter? Yikes! IF you do, put o winter tires and drive your HC in valet mode. ITs brings the horse power down to 300HP. I drive a Jeep 4x4 in the cold.

Here are some links for the suggested parts to add if you put the Drag radials Like MT ET Street R's.

OP,

Once you get the right “sticky’r” tire back there don’t forget to get a rear differential brace and new aftermarket driveshaft.
Waste of money. He said he's not taking the car to the track and he'll never be able to launch hard enough on the street, no matter what tire, to blow up the diff or DS.

Once it hits mid 60s those summer tires are pretty much worthless, maybe that's part of your problem. Mine only hooks up well when it's mid 70s or higher. You'll never get traction from a launch, but you can get traction at a 40 roll, with a little spin.

Be sure the tire pressures are correct. IIRC the tires should be inflated to 32psi (cold).

I have driven my Hellcat now since Feb. 2018 putting over 16K miles on the car. The only time the rear tires spin is when I want them to. (And given a set cost $600+ I don't want them to spin ever.)

The problem is not tires. The problem is you. You need to dial back your driving style.

You switch to winter/snow tires before the first bad cold spell or storm. You keep the tires on until you see the first robin.

Doublewide,

Uh-huh. “It’s never gonna see a track”....that’s what we all say! Lol

I don’t see it as a waste of money. Eventually he’ll want to hook and go faster. We can’t always predict a situation on the street. One day it might hook and then tear up stuff. I’ve been doing this long enough and seen it happen, so that’s why I suggested the extra parts for added security. But I know what you mean.
