So the back story! LOL Recently had a fuel pump replaced under warranty. Drove the car over 200 miles and ran perfect. Got home and put my Aftermarket intake back on which I have swapped back and forth several times over the years. Next day go for a spin and couple miles in my check gas cap light comes on. Pull over and sure enough its on but not "clicked" on which surprised me but it happens. So i tightened it but the light hasn't gone out in several drive cycles. I tried to erase it with my scanner but technically it's not a cel so that didn't work. The really odd thing is I filled the tank that first day and drove 100 miles home and the light never came on? So now I'm wondering could swapping the intake do that? Was it something from the fuel pump fix? And since I apparently didn't tighten the cap why did the light not come on right away? So many variables! And will the light eventually go out once the car senses the problems fixed? And how long should that take? I could swap intakes back but was thinking that was a coincidence. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I'd get that P0456 about every 4 years with my 2010 R/T. Replaced the gas cap and the car's electronics were happy again. I consider it a consumable item.

It didn't throw any code, just the little " check gas cap" icon is on, but changing the cap is an easy enough thing to try. Thanks!
