Hello, I am soon to be the proud owner of a black 2015 Hellcat. I have just thought about a couple of potential problems. I have two speed bumps to get beyond to get to my house, these speed bumps are full road width so have no low level on them I dont know what the UK specification is for speed bumps but I am worried if the front spoiler is going to clear it.

Also I know as an import this car does not have emissions to answer for as such and is listed as PLG in the UK but what about when three years old and needs an MOT? Also will the noise of the exhaust fail any UK laws?

Going ahead with the car regardless of the answers but just hoped someone might be able to give me some advice.

Will share some pictures of the car once I get it next week.

Thanks in advance.

Lets start with the speed bump question. The hight on the Hellcat is pretty good and i have some speed bumps near my house and I don't have any problems with them. I don't think you will either. Just take them real slow.

I am not sure what's involved in a MOT, but I can't see the Hellcat having any problems passing it. The exhaust is fairly quiet until its above 4,000 RPM, then it gets fairly loud. Not the loudest car ever, but loud by Camry standards.

Congrats on getting your Hellcat. We have members in the UK so I'm sure you can get this done. I'm sure one of our UK Hellcat members will help you.

Congrats and WELCOME!!!

Like Chuck said, there are other members on this forum from the UK "lordhellcat" I believe is one and there's
also German "Johnny" which may have some advice for you. Heck, there's even members from the UAE and
I believe from Quatr.

I also agree with ppowell1983 about the speed bumps. If your typical daily driver type of sedans will pass over
if without issue then your new Hellcat will also. These cars have a fair degree of ground clearance especially
for a 200 MPH car.

Congratulations Baldnut. You won't have any issues with speed bumps. Ground clearance is pretty good. As for the MOT again don't worry. The IVA test they have to pass for the UK registration is as strict so all good my friend just enjoy. What part of the UK are you

Thanks Graycat :)

Im in Teesside Lord Hellcat collecting the car from 51stateautos:

2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat - 51st State Autos

Intending to get a CAT 5 Tracker installed asap, who did you get your insurance through please? I currently drive a Discovery and dont think they will switch the insurance over onto a hellcat so likely going to have to go to a new insurer.

You know guys, it's kind of strange. My wife and pretty much every other "yank" woman that I've ever meet say that they love the "English accent" they think that it's really very sexy. I've been reading the posts by all of you guys in the UK and I can't tell the difference from us "yanks"???

I think we all like what we dont have to be honest, my three kids all love the american accent and if I am watching TV dramas I only watch american drama's as really cant be doing with english ones. Love Dexter, Arrested Development, Brooklyn 99, CSI etc.

We spend 4 weeks every summer in Florida and my kids have pretty much mastered the Florida/American accent :)

AFTER you've taken delivery of it, check the "Top Speed" screen, if you find that it says "198mph" (or whatever your damn km equivalent is), THERE IS NO DOUBT that someone has taken it out for a joy ride prior to you receiving it and hit top speed with it... But it's too late, you're just going to have to live with it at that point...

; )

(j/k it comes from the factory that way)

Its not yet registered and was new from US so I would be hoping only what dodge have tested it to (I hope) and thankfully in the UK we are MPH too :) But yes I will be checking that for sure. Hopefully those records dont have dates on them, I would imagine UK police prosecuting me for speeding based on the onboard computer!

Just to be clear, the factory testing that creates the erroneous Top Speed numbers is believed to be created via computer and not physical testing...

Myself and a few others had a brief moment of horror when we discovered these numbers after taking delivery. Trying to figure that out was a few moments of "Mother xxxxxx, who the hell did this to my car?!"
