Im going back into the shop on the 24th for LongTubes, Heads and Cam. Looking forward to this build. Currently I have the Stage 2 setup. Waiting for the whipples to come in so I can get north of 1300hp :)

Keep the stock cam
Hmm why you say that? A Heads/Cam/LT package should yield me some good power. Do you mean keep the stock cam bc of the whipple?

If I was in your position I would just do the heads and a big blower..get some catless midpipes and call it the day. Unless you're just going for sound not worth it. I would spend that money on better pistons and rods or more supporting mods for a bigger blower. The stock cam is plenty.

I hear you for sure. It comes down to - already being in the motor for the heads and ARP headstuds, to do a cam was a little shy of $2k and squeeze out another 30whp with the tune. Im going to do the 3.0 whipple here this summer for sure. The catless midpipes are terrible, I had them on my old setup and man oh man it was just stink and wayyyyy to loud.

We figured, with this setup, not including the new whipple, I should be right around the 1,000whp mark on e85. Currently I am at 919whp on E85 and 787whp on 93.

I was in your position also. Decided to just build the bottom end to support the Whipple 3.0. If you're keeping the stock blower then maybe I would have done a cam and headers.JMHO

A good well designed cam is worth the money and time . The big problem is most places sell cams that are more for sound and less about power out put .
The same with Long tube headers . Just because they fit doesnt mean they produce HP/TQ.

I went with the HHP cam and ARH Longtubes, hoping it will gain me at least 50whp.

I would get those headers jethot coated with their hi temp coating. My engine bay stays cooler than when I was stock.
ARH headers are the ticket, mine fit perfect.

I agree with the coatings .
I had my headers coated inside and out plus I had my head pipes and mid pipes coated too . It keeps the heat down plus improves scavanging.
