So, I flew out yesterday morning to the dealer I bought my car from. I got to the lot right at 9AM as they were opening. We got the last of the paperwork out of the way and my sales guy says "if you'll drive it over to the Sunoco across the intersection, we'll fill it up for you." While he's pumping the gas, I snap a quick picture to text my wife. As soon as I'm done, a guy pulls up to the pump over in a Camaro, gets out, and just goes nuts about it saying "man, that car is BAD @ss! How long have you had it?! How fast have you had it up to? etc., while looking in the windows". My first thought was this thing really is going to get itself some attention. I could regularly see people checking it out on the 8.5 hour drive home, some staring & keeping pace for a bit. At one point when I stopped for food, I was first at the light and a guy coming off a cross street honked and was yelling at me giving a thumbs up. Even when I got into town and stopped at McDonalds to grab a quick late dinner to take home, a couple employees are standing outside and I could see one guy mouth "wow" as I'm pulling into the drive through. I've never had anything attract that much attention; it's nuts. It's going to take some getting used to if it continues like that.

The feel and power of the car is insane. It was very comfortable throughout the 8.5 hours. Pulling out of the lot, I could just feel the power waiting to be tapped into. At one intersection one a stop half way home, I pulled out and spun the tires a bit unintentionally; the car is definitely not uncontrollable, but it's certainly not hard to break loose! Around 540 miles I punched it doing about 70 and I could swear I felt the tires break loose, too. INSANE. The growl at idle is even sick; it's intoxicating.

I know some are fed up with the fiasco of getting one of these cars, but try to keep hanging in there. I wish everyone on here could get their car as expected. And to those refusing to pay any ADM at all, if you decide to pay a small ADM, I don't think you'll regret it; I certainly don't now that I have the car. Here are the couple pics I snapped; sorry for the poor quality. It had bugs all over the front when I got home and it was getting dark. I'll have to take some good ones when it's all shined up again. Gonna get the windows tinted this weekend and that's all I'm planning to do to it.

Congratulations man!!! What an absolutely beautiful Hellcat! Intoxicating is the perfect description. There's nothing like driving a SRT Hellcat for the first time or second time or........6,000th time :)

Hard to explain it in words. It really is an experience like no other. Only other experience I can compare it to is its like driving a NASCAR stock car on the streets.

Enjoy it (not hard to do) and congrats!!

Awesome story. Very happy for you. What shade of tint? I used to live in SoCal where I found 30% struck the balance between seeing at night and not being blinded on a 95 degree sun filled day. Live in CT now and thinking of backing down to 15%. Cheers!

Black is beautiful! nothing looks better when clean and it looks like somebody had the energy to make that happen. after 4 black cars in a row, I just got burned out on being a dust buster. ya never know how much particulate is in the air you breathe until you get a black car.

enjoy!

Thanks! I was thinking the car would have had approx. 15% on the back doors & rear window from the factory like my truck did, so I was going to add a layer of 15% on all four doors and the back window. That way, the front windows would still look lighter; that tends to help here as far as drawing attention because of tint. However, it doesn't look like there is any tint at all. Or am I wrong about that? If there is no factory tint, I'm thinking about doing a layer of 15% on the front to windows and 5% on the back two and rear window. I may even do a sun shade strip on the front windshield with this car even though I don't normally get those. If I do, I definitely won't go below the AS1 line. Most officers around here don't care enough about window tint to enforce it and only a few have tint meters in their cruisers, but going below the AS1 line is an easy one to write.

I don't usually have a hard time seeing out with that setup. I did have a black 2001 Camaro Z28 that I bought with real dark windows and never changed them. I think it must have had 5% on the two doors and maybe two layers of 5% on the back window? Now that car was hard to back up at night, especially if it was raining hard.

Couple of questions......where did you go to pick up your Cat and where in Kentucky are you going?
Found it at Koons of Tysons Corner in Vienna, VA, just outside of DC, thanks to an old thread in the purchasing section way down on page 3. I flew out of Lexington on a direct flight to Reagan National in Arlington. The flight was only 55 minutes and there were only 16 of us on board, other than crew (I guess because it left at 6:15AM); man that was nice.

Anyway, I'm in the Frankfort area, but I go to Lexington and Louisville somewhat often. Did you say before you're close to Louisville? Are there ever any events around there that I should know about?
