I grabbed a key fob to my other car by mistake. A 2019 Chevy. When I put my hand under the door handle, the SRT lit up on the the center screen and it said hold brake , press start button. But it never unlocked the door. Which obviously is great lol
I know I’ve heard a lot of weird things happen to these newer Hellcats. Electronically.
Anybody else have this happen? Makes me think maybe why/how these cars are so easily stolen. Wtf and Lol…

Its normal for it to wake up when you pull the handle. It wasnt the fob...LOL

I would have unlocked the door, put the Dodge fob away, then tried to start car with the chevy fob. Just to see....

No it does not unlock the doors, but it will light up the dash and show the animation to start the car. No key fob needed. Now if yours unlocked, then you probably have the fob too close to the car.

My ZL1 does the same. If I press the button on the door handle the inside dash lights up and the fuel pump primes... No fob near the car. Obv it wont unlock or start.

Just to be clear, if you have the correct FOB near the door and put your fingers under the handle and just touch it without pulling the handle, the hellcat will light up and unlock.

If you did this without the fob, the inside will still light up but it wont unlock.

IMO. I don’t think Fob’s from other vehicles should wake it up. Like I said , I just put my fingers under the door handle without touching it. I tried it again without any key fob’s and it did nothing. Didn’t wake it up.

No thats not really what its for. What it would be for is to reference a question you have to see if it has the answer before you blindly take to the forums and get the RTFM response. Most dont read it from cover to cover, but I always pull it out to see if it has the info I need on the car. I have used mine several times. And there are electronic versions all over the internet to look at.

I visit quite a few different car forums and this one by far takes the idiocy cake. I’d say 1 in 4 threads are completely misguided and full of misinformation and idiots spreading it. I’ve had to block close to 20 members here due to the level of moronic posts and their replies. Sorry to point out the obvious even if it offends you.

read the manual six or seven time and the Hellcat supplement at least 10 times.

read everything again a few more times after receiving my HCWB Charger.
