I feel like the alpine system in the charger is better balanced than this 19 speaker HK. I'm know some will say I'm crazy but I feel there is not enough bass. My 2021 Cherokee High Altitude Apine 9 speaker blowers the doors of the Hellrango HK. I played around with EQ but seem like it inconsistent regardless of music type. Anyone else not impressed for the up charge ?

Have you actually compared the two? The HK isnt the high level audio that we’d all like it to be but it's better than the am radio quality Alpine imo.

In my Challenger, the HK sub is the weak point. The rest of the speakers sound pretty good but still not worth $2K. I swapped the sub and added a mono amp to power it and it sounds much better.

I agree with this - I had a 15 Challenger HC with the HK and now have a 19 Challenger Redeye with the Alpine and the HK was much, much better all around. The Alpine in my 16' Ram is excellent but personally I think the Alpine in the 19 Challenger pretty much sucks.

My 2020 rewb with hk bumps hard

alpine sounds super weak compared. Glad I had a chance to play with the hk before buying. Bumped nonstop by drake and had ppl walking away in terror from the SLAP so funny killer system really pleased could not ask for more

Never heard the HK in a charger but for average volume listening my chargers Apine keeped me satisfied. Now the Apine in the 2012 Cherokee has tons more bass (at time to much) VS 3 day of ownership of Durango HK. Yesterday I thought maybe popped a fuse since it admitted almost no bass. It like the sound stage is inconsistent sometimes it sounds great other time underwhelming.

It less the loudness more the way the it handles different music types. It seem like you have to constantly adjust to keep it consistent with my preferences. Never had to do this with other cars/truck. My SRT Jeep had the Alpine and I don't recall having to adjust the sound scape. I will add I'm by no mean a audiophile.

Im honestly surprised to read this thread lol. Personally I like it. It's sounds good compared to the other cars of its kind. I have a great setup in my older truck but honestly the difference is minimal. Maybe I'm just sheltered and never heard an amazing system?
Yeah I've had some really expensive setups in vehicles before, this system does sound great. Good amount of base and clarity, for a factory option. The surround works well too. Ain't gonna make nobodies hair levitate, but definitely leaps and bounds better than the alpine. Don't know what these guys are talking about. It's night and day. It's not just you.

Guys, if you don't have a Durango, your experience is anecdotal at best. The size and shape of the interior plays a big roll in how the system sounds, so any comparisons to a Challenger or Charger are moot. A Cherokee would be much closer, but still not identical.
I've been listening to a lot of satellite radio and I'm just not blown away.
