Yes! It's a new law that went into effect (Canada only) and 2021 model year and newer will have the OFF setting eliminated and the Auto Headlight system will control the DRL's and will also run the taillights when the DRL's are on.

Seems the government up there was tired of people driving in the dark with only DRL's and no other lights, now they have made it impossible to configure the car that way, the tailights will also be on.

I actually agree with the change. Im constantly seeing people driving around at dusk/early evening with no lights on because their dash lights are bright and dont realize they have no exterior lights on.

The advantage of manual headlights is that it makes it easier for the cops to find the drunks!
Speaking of the cops, I'm assuming the police version of the Charger will have manual lights so cops can have their lights off when needed.

Yeah good point. They also have something called Dark Mode that kills interior and dash lights, maybe they'll do it via that or just use the old switch.

the police version also has a 5.7 hemi with AWD and column shift
2021-up now uses A8 and it comes with a small console and floor shift and I haven't confirned it yet, but the paperwork says you can order an instrument panel shifter so have to see what that is.

You might be able to get a floor shift, however all the ones I have seen in person have column shift, and they still come AWD if you order it that way

Through 2020 yes they were all floor shifts but now with the A8 for the first time, it will be different.

And the AWD is restricted to the V6 only now. They only build two different Pursuit models (Enforcer in Canada) now, a V6 that comes only in AWD and a 5.7L that comes only in RWD, and both with A8.

Yes the column shifter is still standard equipment for 2021 with the new A8, they show a mini console as standard but the shifter still on the column and the console is low profile and guess is the base for the radio mount. Or the PD could take it out and mount their own radio console. Definitely would have made no sense with a floor shifter in the way.
