No traction on the other site so I’ll try it here.

AFR typically makes some good stuff so I was wondering if anyone has tried these heads. I know the Hemi heads are a great factory casting but still.
Ive built alot of engines using AFR heads, they are always nice. I believe they use a foundry in So Cal that Edelbrock owns to cast them, then all machining is done in house with AFR…..I think. AFR is nice, but these are still not available yet. Im sure they will be awesome!

Oh I didn’t realize they weren’t for sale yet. Hopefully it will help stock motors also. With how good the Hemi heads are I kinda doubt it would be worth the cost. Now on a big stroker or a power adder motor I image it will be interesting.

Can’t wait to see a few builds pop up with these on it.

Have you done any searches on the 'net for comparisons between various brands of Hemi heads? I have seen some good stuff on AFR heads for BB Chevy, SB Ford and SB Chevy/LS motors, also B/RB Mopar.

So far, Edelbrock has not been as good as AFR for the Mopars. I am talking small differences, here, but anyway.

The only one I heard about for the Gen III Hemi is Edelbrock, and I heard good stuff about those.

Does AFR offer some CNC-consistent porting, etc., for the heads?

I read about them a few days ago and started this post. From what I remember all of them come CNC ported. They may produce a budget head that’s not but what’s the point in that unless you can port them yourself.

I have wondered that same thing myself. Why would you NOT want your heads nicely computer-identically ported?
But, some guys are pretty handy with a grinder and have tons of experience. They would want the "as-cast" (to quote the AFR guy on Youtube at the intro of the G3 heads) heads.
