I took delivery of my 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat last Friday. Early this morning, I decided to titivate it a bit before it became too hot.

Have a look at this photo. There is a clear protective film covering the rear flares beginning at the bottom and running half way up the flare. I have no idea if this is new, but it's obviously intended to guard against stone/rock chips.

New for 2021 or not?

Actually.. they appear clear to me. I don't think there's any color matching at all. My car will be a low mileage vehicle only driven on weekends and when I'm in the mood, so I'm not going to spend $2,000 to $2,500 at this point for Xpel. I think I'll just keep her washed and apply a silicone sealant every couple of months.

My previous cars picked up the odd Stone ship but it was negligible at best.

Happy motoring everyone

Those are standard on all Chalenger's and Chargers. Yes, this is a major design flaw, when your brand new car has the potential to look like swiss cheese in a few hours after delivery.
Agreed, it’s horrid at best! at the very minimum they’re sand blasted and it can rapidly escalate to rock chips thrown high up on the doors from the fronts…rock guards, side skirts, and a full wrap is mandatory! better yet put it in a glass dome on a pedestal for absolutely no damage ever

Best solution if your concerned about Rock Chips is to have a professional and reputable Detailer install high quality PPF on high impact areas of the car. XPEL and Suntek are the two better brands of PPF but finding a great detailer for the PPF install is even more important.
