I'm having issues (as usual) finding part numbers for brake pads especially on stoptech, Porterfield and hawk brake pads,
as we all know powerstop pads are easy
its
pst 1405 front pads
pst 1053 rear pads for the track day set,
but theres not a lot of review for these and I could be wrong, usually am, that a good set of Hawk or porterfields may be a better option than these?

I try to navigate the Hawk website and when I search by car I get this weird list of options for the challenger are these partial vin numbers? wtf??

Has anyone used Hawk pads? I want medium to full race pads.

The Stoptech page takes you to some sort of world headquarters wont sell to the public good luck finding part numbers for your car page, any experience with this? who carries these pads? Summit, Jegs or others?

I haven't purchased from them so I don't know. They are a good resource for what's available and part numbers.

I can't see the part numbers for the pads only the type and brand of pad after the make/model/year search along with a price.

its not unusual for aftermarket companies to hide part numbers for products that can be purchased elsewhere. helps prevent people from price shopping other places I guess.

You're right, this site doesn't have part numbers. I have used it, though, to find what's available and then do a general search for the best price.

I have parts numbers for the Porterfield pads.....I wrote them this past April and this is the important part of the email they sent back to me:

Are you planning on running them both street and track?? I know the Porterfield are great for both. I'm going to run Porterfield on the Cat. I've run Carbotech 10's and 12's on my Boss......squeal like a maniac on the street or cold. Running Pagid RS pads now and couldn't be happier....not sure if they make them for our Cats or not.

Those Power Stops (corrected-I meant model z23) are not a track pad. I am an instructor. I over heated them on the warm up lap on two different sessions in my Charger 392. Do not track them. They are fine and dust free on the street.

I haven't tried any full race/track pads on my Charger yet. On my Viper ACR I ran Performance Friction in a full track compound 07 Fronts and 97 Rear (not drivable on the street, as it required a lot of heat before they started grabbing). On my GTS I ran EBC yellow. Note that a hardcore track pad will not be drivable on the street so if you go that route you have to change pads and brake fluid at the track, or trailer it there.

Are you certain we are talking about the same PowerStop pads??
Powerstop makes like three pads for the hellcat
1.Z23 low dust street pad
2. Z26 low dust street pad with metal backing.
3. and the TrackDay pad my reference is to the part number PST 1053 which is track day pad

I ran the z23 (same as z26). I don't have any experience with the PST 1053.

1405 is the spec number, for the front 6 piston Brambo pads.

1053 is the spec number, for the rear 4 piston Brambo pads. The old spec number is 529A.

Each manufacturer has a unique prefix that signifies a specific compound and their branding.

If you do an internet search for either 1405, or 1053 brake pad, you will get a broad list of results to choose from and research.

I ran the z23 (same as z26). I don't have any experience with the PST 1053.

Nearly the same....


Z23 has a plastic backing
Z26 has a Stainless Steel backing...
