2019 Charger HC with 25K Miles on a 39-Month Lease with Chrysler Capital @ $910/Month, $42K Residual (included a final payment) on a $69K Market Value HC, 72-Month Loan @ 3.74 APR with my local Bank. Added an 8 Yr / 100K Bumper-to-Bumper Extended Warranty for $4,900 which is refundable on a Prorated Basis should I sell the car. New Monthly is $818. With the Warranties, Sales Tax & Doc Fees, I financed $52K

The Extended Warranty also covers a new battery, wiper blades, OE Brass Monkey Wheels and Tires Replacement and a whole heck of a lot more with a $100 Deductible per Event.

Decided to use OPM instead of my cash & can pay off at any time. My Dealer Finance Guy did the whole process in an hour. He did some preliminary work knowing I was coming in. Dealer is doing all the Title Work. Totally painless & seamless. :)

Loaded question at this stage in the game…
One the one hand you know the car and know you took care of it.
On the other hand the market value is absurd right now and super tempting to sell to say the least.
on the third hand.. lol. There’s nothing like the smell and feel of a brand new HELLCAT!!
life’s decisions I tell ya. I know this was no advice but it’s a hard spot to say the least.

Don't you forfeit the refundability of the warranty if you ever make even one claim?

Payment seems a bit high.

Auto Price: $44900 ($40000 residual + $4900 warranty)
Loan Term : 72
Interest Rate: 3.74%
Down Payment : $0
Trade-in Value: $0
Your State: TBD
Sales Tax: 6.5%
Title, Registration and Other Fees: $300

Monthly Payment: $747.14
Actual Payment: $818.00 (+$70.86 | +$5101.92 over 72 months) ($94386 total paid over 111 months of ownership | value of 10 year old Hellcat with 47000 miles: TBD)
(Working backward from payment, interest, and term actual out-the-door price must have been ~$49185--a ~$4200 overcharge)

Alternative:
Buy the car for $40000, flip for $69000: $29000 profit
Put $29000 down on new Hellcat with free mfg warranty
Finance new car at 0% for 72 months
Payment ~$708 on new Hellcat

I just did a lease buy out on my 2018 Challenger Hellcat last week.
I kept mine as I decided to be reasonable and secure my car at this point in my life. I’d rather not pay more for a newer Cat when I know my car and it’s a manual, as we all know manuals are rare.
I bought my 2018 lease out last summer. The RE HP is nice, but not for the price increase. You are right with knowing the history of a car you've had since new etc.

I'll use the $ not spent on "upgrading" to a new HC on other cars while still having my Hellcat.

My buyout experience was terrible, though. FCA was a joke and did not do their job on the DMV side. I had to do it for them & waste $ in the process

So you are going to pay all-in $94,386 for a 2019 HC?
Yes. ~$2,800 Sales Tax, $8K in Ext Warranty & Wheel/Tire Coverage. That number also includes the last 2 Lease Payments. I had an initial 39 month extended warranty to cover items outside the 36/36 and needed to buy the lease out before it expired. I also have a car that is literally perfect, garage kept and taken care of. It looks showroom inside and out. I know this car. I usually keep cars like this 15 years. I also don't have to worry about Supply Chain issues or any potential de-featuring or de-optioning at build time for any new car.

I hope you didn't put $ down on that lease. When you leased it, did you do so with the sale price @ $69k?

$8k warranty lol just get a refund now. Waste of money 99% of the time.

For comparison, the purchase price of my lease in 2018 was $64k (MSRP of $74k). $679 per month with 0 down. Buyout was $42k. Outside of whatever little interest I pay on the financed $42k, I will have paid not much more than that $64k (It will be paid off early)

You are around $100k all in with your numbers. Wowzas...
