I would not put a header type manifold on the Hellcat. The factory exhaust is set to reduce temps under the hood. With its dual wall construction. There will be plenty of other upgrades to consider.

Wouldn't headers lower the threshold of boost pressure thus providing higher torque in the midrange? Thermal coating the headers would help keep underhood temps down.

Most quality headers aren't really cost effective but for those who are looking to extract more power on the big end end up getting headers. Boosted LSA motors ZL1 & CTS-V's pick up 17 to 20 hp and torque respectively with headers.

Whenever the aftermarket comes out with a HC pulley folks are going for maximum power.

Perhaps I missed the thread but has anyone considered headers? Has to be some huge torque gains from say long tubes headers.
I think they have designed the best possible header from the factory although I'm sure there will be gear heads that try to top bolt ons such as this but you may has well throw a few hundred dollar bills in the fire bc that's exactly what it will accomplish! :D

From experience (have had numerous supercharged V8s) you will most likely lower your HP and TQ numbers. Lowering the back pressure typically lowers boost and you'll make less power. This happend on a Magnusson supercharged LS2 Vette. Added the blower...had it tuned. Then wanted more power...added headers. Lost power. Then I pullied it to gain 2/3 lbs of boost.

I'd like to see what headers, no cats, and tune get you... 700+ rwhp???

High flow cats won't last very long with this kind of power. Once I get bored... Headers,no cats, pulley and tune will be pretty fun...

I think there is 10-20 HP left somewhere in the exhaust system, whether it is through tuned headers/no cats or both. The MAF is supposed to compensat for any additional air pulled through with additional fuel, but only to a point and since this is a high compression SC car, my concern is a lean WOT condition. Short of an airfilter, I would be cautious with any additional mods that don't include some type of additional fueling/tuning.

I think the exhuast is capable to flow pretty well for the 800 HP it makes (minus the 60-80 for the supercharger drag).

There is a balance and I think the Dodge engineers did a great job in respect to this, as mentioned going bigger or to long tubes may hurt the engines performance, I don't see the exhaust as the choke point and even think it can handle a few more ponies....

So what modifications do you think would be worth while for this car? I made a thread talking about the engines potential responsiveness to modification. From what I was told in that thread, you can't really do an intake because of the sensors, you can't really change the upper pulley because of the design of the upper pulley and how it operates, there isn't much room for a larger lower pulley, and the factory exhaust already flows very well (which is a good thing) so changing the exhaust isn't really worth the cost. What is left besides a tune?

Im not gonna monkey with any high dollar go fast parts until the ECM is figured out/cracked. Without the ability to make adjustments to installed parts I really don't see the value. And I agree with the warranty issues as well.

The driveshaft is all im doin for now.
