Hellcat damaged, by suncoast dodge, what would you do?

I recently bought a hellcat from Suncoast dodge, in Florida.

The splitter was damaged when I took possession. I could not inspect the car before hand as I am out of state.

I did ask the sales rep to inspect the splitter as we all know on this website some cars are being damaged when unloading and loading onto the trucks.

Well, I was assured that everything was fine.

Upon arrival, i saw the splitter was in fact damaged.

By luck, the mechanic who did the PDI is a member here on this site. I asked him in a thread if the car was damaged when he inspected it. And he said yes it was.

Well, I went back to the sales rep and told him that the splitter was damaged and the mechanic confirmed it was before I rec'd the car.

Well funny stuff follows.

The sales rep texts me as tells me the car was not damaged when it left his shop.

I went back to this website and guess what? The mechanic deleted his post admitting the car was damaged.

I then get a call from Phil Schmidt, I guess the GM there, and he says he spoke with the detailer and the mechanic and the car was not damaged when they sent it to me.

Well, I goto google, and look up the archived page where their mechanic admitted to it and I tell Phil that I have it in black and white in writing that the mechanic saw the damage.

Well then Phil starts changing his story about how it wasnt too bad or too noticeable.

I told him that wasn't the point. They damaged the car. They covered it up and lied to me.

He refused to fix it or even entertain fixing the car or the situation.

Well, I have been busy as heck the past few weeks so I havent worked on the issue. And its been icy here in North Texas, believe it or not.

But now I need a resolution.

What pisses me off is the lies and the cover up. I have the proof in writing. The mechanic admitted the damage, then tried to delete his comments.

I have never been treated like that by a company. I have bought a car from them before.

And I have had three challengers and two rams.

What would you guys do?

Call Srt and see what they have to say about your problems!
Maybe call SRT or escalate through Chrysler. Be polite and to the point.
Have you gotten your survey yet for the dealership from chrysler? If you have not filled it out yet call the dealer and tell them if they don't fix it you will give them the worst survey possible. The dealers are affected by these surveys so it is important to them to stay above a certain grade. They get compensated on these surveys.

I am in a similar condition where mine was damaged upon me buying the car. I told the sales manager and he said they wouldn't fix it. So I just got my survey and will be sending an email asking for a new splitter also.
I'd walk in with a printed copy of that mesage and then say

"Have you ever heard of Hellcat.org?"

"Well here's the thread I started to ask how I should proceed with this problem. And right here <point to phone> is where I said I purchased my car from your dealership"
no one would accept a damaged car

if the owner/manager is telling you have to accept it try calling SRT/Dodge....im sure they would love to hear about your dealerships great service

the splitter will get scraped up by you.....probably in a week......my 2011 was scraped the first time i took it out

i still wouldnt accept a damaged one on day 1

skip the car, find another.......you dont have too many choices if they are being a holes about it
I would be pissed off and let them know that. The spoiler is $90.00. If the negative social media press value is less than $90.00 to them then you are going to be out of luck. I would make it very clear to them that you intend to be very vocal on social media about your experience and if you cost them one sale of a new or used car that would more than cover this spoiler issue. Sounds like they have no integrity so they probably won't budge. Glad I don't have a dealer like that!

the $90 isnt the problem.....its all the labor to get the stupid thing swapped out.they didnt make it easy to replace......this is where i like my GT500.....the bottom splitter is a separate part thats in your trunk during delivery....YOU put it on yourself with clips and screws.......if it gets damaged it takes 15 min to replace....Fords is $250 though
The picture you sent us was not the way it left my stall. And I have pictures to prove my statement. That is all I have to say about this issue,
Accept responsibility: you blew it.
It's a done deal. I'm sure your not full of crap, but how many of us have took out the spoiler and now learned to back in.

Did you have it shipped to you? The shipping company would also inspect the car and make any notes of defects so they are not responsible. I don't understand why the dealer wouldn't admit to it unless it was damaged on their watch. It would be covered. Since you have the documentation and I would see if you can get something from the shipping company and then contact SRT and see if you can get resolution. Just my thoughts...Not sure that is proper protocol, just what I would try.:)
Sounds like maybe it could of had a bit of damage, but now the damage is worse. The tech appears to have chimed in. is it worse now?

Ah! This post was coming through the same time I was responding. A new twist. Sounds like maybe something that occurred in transit??? Those spoilers are low sticking out little buggers!
^^ what he said! The Truck Driver has a inventory/inspection sheet on file. It will read "all good".. So did the dealer or the driver screw it up? Neither, who ever accepted delivery. Live and learn baby! Live and learn. Actually this a cheap lesson
Dang Tammie, quick draw! And another post count. Ha
I treat each and every car that I work on like it is my own. I have many SRT customers that will back me. No way I would let the car go with the damage he has showed. What I felt was a very very minor scratch on the underside of the splitter out of sight you would never see it unless you get up under the car. No cracks just a minor scuff.

OP asked me about damage I was being honest. Now my words are being used against me. I deleted my posts not to be shady but more so the fact that this has gotten me some heat at work.

Hey NX91 do you know tech Dan Butler at the Audi dealership by chance?

I would let Tammie and the team know who it was on this site and have him banned as a member, we don't need two faces like that on our site.
Next I would get the post to higher ups at Dodge and show them the post he deleted.

Its sad a purchase for 70k depending on the over sticker or not and these jacka#$% won't flip for a new splitter that at there wholesale is not a lot. And the money doesn't even come out of the shyster salesman and managers pocket.

I guess they never heard of customer service, as hard as they covered it up, it would have been a lot easier to fix it for you.

No I don't know anyone at other car brands. I have worked for Chrysler for 12+ years. I know pretty much only Chrysler techs.

Lol ban me? Are you serious?

Whatever I am out of this fight anyway. I have probably already said too much already and putting my job at risk.
