Hey fellas,
Went to order my hellcat today and make it final with $40k to put as a down payment. One dealership in Dallas here called Love Field Dodge is charging $7500 over sticker to order one. That is no guarantee on the first run cars. Another dealership called freedom Dodge in Duncanville Tx is charging $5000 over sticker.
How can they get away with this shit ???
I hear form the GM of Rockwall Dodge here in Texas that when he worked for the Ford dealership , they were getting $20k over sticker for the new cobra 500 .

I guess I will have to wait on a hellcat for the second or 3ed run if there is one :(
Any ideas ???

Yeah, keep looking.

Quick story on my GT500

I left a deposit for my 2007 GT500 in March 2005, the day it was shown for the first time at the NY Auto show. While the salesrep was filling out my paperwork I asked him if they were going to sell me the car at MSRP, he said sure so I had him write "Price Not To Exceed MSRP" on the order form & got a copy for my file. Flash-forward to March 2006, the order banks open up & I go in to place my order, after everything is done I'm told that I have to pay a 25k ADM. I looked at the guy who placed the order for me & said "I don't think so, you better go pull my file".

They fought me on it saying the salesrep (who no longer worked at the dealership) wasn't authorized to make a MSRP deal but I didn't back down & had my attorney file a 250k breach of contract lawsuit against them. It took 5 months for them to come to their senses, but I did finally get my Shelby in October at MSRP.

No kidding, get everything in writing. My attorney laughed his a$$ off when I showed him my paperwork the day after the order was placed.

The circus surrounding that car was every bit as intense as the Hellcat has been. I followed exactly what I did with the Shelby & got my deal negoiated, deposit in & copies of everything back in July. I feel very comfortable with my Dodge dealer & don't believe I'm going to have to go through the same BS this time around.

You're Welcome! I think you will find your deal, gotta keep calling around until you do. Just don't limit your search to small town dealers though, the larger dealerships will more than likely get more cars allocated to them.

Hey Mark. If I was you I would shop around. there are a lot of dealers selling these cars at MSRP. I talked to my dealer and he said he would check an see how many he can get in. he also said if he can get more Hellcats in he will be more then glad to sell you one at sticker price. he said the delivery fee from Pa. to Texas would be in the ballpark of 1,000.00. Thats better then 5k-7.5k.

It's not neccessarily right but totally legal. Manufacturers do not own the dealerships and cannot tell the dealers what to sell the cars for. They put a window sticker on all cars but since customers don't pay that either it made it an open playing field.

ADM is for people who have more money than brains or has to be the first on the block with a Hellcat just for the braggin rights. I will be chopping at the bit to get one ASAP but not to the extent of paying a dime over MSRP!

My first dealer wanted $3700 over MSRP for the Richmond Plan a paint and tire warranty. BS!! I went to another dealership and bought it for MSRP. He said " we just want to get the new product on the street, we aren't out to gouge anyone".

Went to my local Autonation Dodge out here in Seattle area. I have bought my last 3 new vehicles from this dealership (3 in 10 years). They tacked on a 10K markup and I would have none of it. They said everyone in the area was marking up and I replied I could go to an Ohio dealer and get a Hellcat at MSRP (thanks sldgy ).

I sent them an email after I placed my order with Bob Frederick stating I was sad that after 3 new vehicles I could no longer do business. They basically said adios in their reply. Who does business like that? I work for a retail giant and in no universe do you treat a customer like that. Extortion is no way to do business.

They basically gave a sale to another dealership and didn't bat an eye!

btw - Sublime standard trans with Nav package. Have a vanity plate picked to - BELZBUB
