Who doesn't love massive amounts of horsepower? Certainly no one on Hellcat.org. According to a anonymous Chrysler source who gave the dish to Jalopnik, the Hellcat has been dyno'd all the way up to an insane 825 HP. Eye bulging horsepower numbers indeed, but they are still having trouble meeting emissions requirements at the advertised 707 HP. The source said there were "extreme issues" meeting the emission requirements, so this will be very interesting to see how the Dodge boys solve this problem before the first Hellcats are delivered.

Hopefully this will not delay the launch (pun intended) and customers will receive the SRT Hellcat's at the expected delivery date, but this is definitely something we'll keep our eye on.

One last order of business now that we are on the subject of horsepower. That same anonymous source said that the "707 HP number is not only conservative, but he's not really sure where it came from in the first place." It's probably just the nice looking symmetrical '707' that the marketing team jumped on, but fans will be pleased to know that other dyno tests peg the ponies at 720. Yeah, nobody is disappointed now are they.

The source said at the wheels, buyers should expect something in the 630 HP range, which is still plenty of power.

oh man, I hope the emissions issue doesn't cause any delays. I am already chomping at the bit to get my butt in the seat and my foot on the pedal!! The 10 weeks I was told from order date is brutal, any longer and my luck there will be too much snow on the ground to even get to enjoy my new toy.

No kidding, you are at a much higher risk than I am for having bad weather around that time. Good luck! Lets hope they get the emissions issues resolved and our toys get here in time to play.

Yeah saw this article first day it came out. That must mean dodge may be putting a limiter to 707HP to meet emissions.
That is why I want mine before all the environmental restrictions get in the way and they determine these aren't safe to be on the road or something crazy like that! I would really like to know if this is true and if we are going to have a delay in production. My mission is to find out today and let you all know.:)

Okay, here is the scoop from SRT. They said that there is NO delay due to emissions. What they are waiting for is the launch date to build. He told me that they usually stop regular production 1 day a week to build SRT high performance but, it is rumored that they will be building 2 days a week for the Hellcat. He did not have a date when they were starting to build but, it should be soon and emissions is NOT an issue!! I was really hoping he was going to say they just finished mine and it is being loaded on the truck. LOL.
